Equity Point Hostel Marrakech
Many visitors praise the hostel's excellent location within the souks, friendly staff, and pleasant pool area. However, some guests report cleanliness issues in rooms, including dust and hairs, and one serious complaint details theft by staff and a refusal to review CCTV.

Rooms were dirty as were the sheets on the beds. While the beds were made neatly there were hairs on them, and a lot of dust under beds. We were four young women staying in a four person room and had a lock for the door however staff entered to “clean” and instead stole €170 and prescription medications from our room and staff refused to view cctv. You also were supposed to wear paper wristbands to gender the hostel however locals knew what hostel we were staying in because of this and were followed/ met at the door more than once because of this.
Beautiful hostel right in the middle of all the Souks. Pool area is far better than comparable hostels and the rooms are nice with working A/C. The staff are so kind. The bar / restaurant does great food and very affordable. Samo was a great server and we made great friends with him by the end of our stay!
Such a great stay at Equity point! All the staff were inviting and kind - from the front desk to the bar tenders and security. It was really quite the contrast from the sometimes stressful Medina it’s located in, making the glowing sign of the hostel in the souk feel like a peaceful relief after navigating through the maze! Rooms are typical for a hostel - on the lower end maybe. But that should be expected really, and doesn’t impact my rating. Hotel layout is very interesting, pool is wonderful, and restaurant/bar, while maybe pricey, is a great vibe and fallback if you get too tired on the busy streets. Lots of chilling areas - if you need to be alone, or want to place yourself somewhere to make friends - this place has all of the options on couches and lounging areas scattered throughout the building! I can easily see myself coming back, and certainly will recommend friends to come here in the future.
Never mind all the hype! The hostel isn't worth the money. The pool is small and overcrowded, service is simply overpriced and the location in the souk feels cramped. Yes, the woman at the front desk is very friendly. The manager, however, is neither helpful nor approachable. You can really feel the greed for money behind it all!... There are friendlier places to stay in the city.
The riad is very poorly located, situated in narrow alleyways that become truly dangerous at night. You don't feel safe, especially at night. Between the location and the staff constantly hovering over you, it's impossible to enjoy your stay. I do not recommend it.
