Mercure Hai Phong sits in the SHP Plaza tower on Lạch Tray Street, above a shopping mall in the business district. It opened under the Mercure brand in late 2018 with 176 rooms and suites plus 57 serviced apartments, and the infinity pool and gym are on the 28th floor. Lạch Tray is one of the city's busy food streets, and Cat Bi Airport is about 6 km away. It's a mainstream hotel, not a gay venue, and Haiphong has no gay bars to walk to; most visitors meet locals on apps.
