Bassiani

Loved this place. Incredible energy, high quality sound system and reasonably priced drinks. Very unpretentious, felt safe. Would recommend to anyone who is serious about Techno.

Some places play music. Bassiani creates memories that stay with you long after the last track fades. Bassiani is not just a nightclub. It’s a place where time disappears and only the music remains. I’ve visited many clubs around the world, but nowhere has ever made me feel what Bassiani does.

I'm genuinely sad and disappointed from my experience at this club tonight on a queer event - Hydrash. It all started when there were two men standing behind me in the line and we got into a conversation and I noticed that both of them had very strong Russian accents. I asked them where they were from and they both laughed and hesitated and one of them said "good question...you don't wanna know". It was obvious that they were clearly Russian who were aware that this club doesn't allow the entry of Russian citizens. Since it was a queer event they both had invitations that were possibly faked cause if they had entered their actual information in the registration form they wouldn't have been verified. They were holding Georgian passports and were wearing glasses to cover their faces. I warned the bouncer that there was a high chance that the men behind me were Russian citizens and were holding passports that didn't belong to them. I asked the bouncer to check them thoroughly. It took him exactly 30 seconds to allow them to enter. And when these Russians entered I heard one of them say "we pull this everytime". As a visitor of this club and as a Georgian citizen who wants to be in a safe space without my country's invaders and occupants, I felt very unsafe and devastated by the bouncer's lack of responsibility and incompletion of a very valid request: to check the people I - their member and a visitor - thought were dangerous and were breaking the club's rules. When I entered the club, I heard a lot of Russian speaking around me. It felt very unsafe to be among this crowd and I felt very disappointed. Later on, two of my Georgian friends who wanted to come to the club were denied of access and when I stepped outside to see them, I also saw that two Dutch boys had also been rejected. They were saying that there were two Russian men in front of them in the queue who the bouncers let in. I can't fathom to process how a place as great as Bassiani, with an incredible space inside, world tier music, and morals that they preach about being anti-Russian, allowed such behavior tonight: rejecting Georgians and Europeans and allowing Russians in the club. Also to note, the bouncers were incredibly mean to me and my friends when we expressed disappointment about this situation. I believe that this place is really great but its bouncers are not doing their jobs the way they're supposed to and are creating an atmosphere inside that feels the opposite of what the club stands for.

Never been here before, never been to any other club in Georgia and my partner, and I got rejected at the door with no reason given. We were dressed well and wanted to have a good time and we were rejected without any explanation. We showed up at 12:30. Very odd.

🐊 tears for anyone so dumb or square they can’t figure out how to get in this place, like many of these other reviewers. No hints here, but it’s the best club in Tbilisi & ranks high throughout the world, especially for techno 🇬🇪
