Great place to connect with nature and detox from your device's
Absolutely love this place! Go for a walk in the woods, get lost, find your way out and end the morning with an amazing breakfast. A definite must when you’re in the area.
had the most wonderful weekend. Amanda was very kind and welcoming and the breakfast we had on both days was delicous.
Dernwood Farm is my favourite campsite in England! The atmosphere is the perfect blend of nature -- with beautiful forest, car-free camping field and campfires -- and convenience, with a wonderful farmshop and cafe, and particularly nice showers. Ideal for those groups that contain both wild-camping and glamping enthusiasts. The wood has so much safe and beautiful space to roam that even after half-a-dozen visits I am still finding more to explore. Amanda and the family are incredibly hospitible and helpful.
Dernwood Farm isn't just a campsite it's part of our family history. In the early days (around 15 years ago!) our kids were babes in arms and toddlers and the campsite was ALL wild camping in a field with little more than a stand pipe / a loo and all the ancient woodland you could need to escape from it all. Over the years Amanda and her family have expanded the offering gently and sensitively year on year in response to the growing popularity of getting back to nature - with beautiful bell tents, encampments, cabins , huts , safari tents - hot showers and woodfired hot tubs! (although we still have our best memories of stringing up the solar shower in the trees and washing the kids in sun warmed trugs of water!) What's special about this place is even with the new adaptations and 'mod con's' it still remains magical, natural, peaceful, a little bit wild and a big slice of heaven. We've returned almost EVERY year, at least once (skipping one year in Covid and we were so sad that year) It's a reset - a haven and the breakfasts - whether you buy your own supplies from the farm shop and cook it on the fire or head to the cafe to have it all done for you are always the best. Here's to the next 15 years...
A piece of paradise!
Our first camping experience and we and the dog loved it! Will definitely come again
