Eskdale Lodge

We come to the area a lot to visit my son so are looking for somewhere to sleep when we do come down. Eskdale has never come up before so when it did we thought we'd give it a go. It's a very large, old house dissected into rooms.... Parts of the property are in need of a little TLC but we had a really nice stay here. Our room was big with high ceilings, the ceiling had a few cracks and a bit of peeling paint, but it was comfortable. Everything is quite dated but functional, so worked for us. The bathroom had a bath, but it took ages to fill, so gave up. The bath panel was cracked and the ceiling had water mark stains from a previous leak at some time... But once again it worked so ok. The upside was a little bar downstairs with lots of seating and a garden area at the back with benches. The service was excellent. If you're looking for luxury then this probably isn't for you, if you need a place to sleep and aren't too bothered about all the frills then this will suit you perfectly. We would stay again, our room was at the back so no traffic noise the only thing we had were the pigeons. 😂

Stayed here for one night to go to Britfest. The bedroom had everything we needed - tea and coffee, plenty of sockets, good shower

Fare price, good breakfast.

A very tired hotel

I booked this hotel on behalf of my family members visiting my wife and I from Ireland. They stayed two nights and were pleased with everything the hotel provided them. The room was very clean with comfortable beds for two ladies and one child.

Biggest disappointment was being told on arrival they don't do evening food.... so had to use uber eats to get food dropped off.

Great company, vibes, ale, tables - this place has at least two of them. Wouldn't drink anywhere else on a Friday.

This is a no frill,s (b&b). It is in walking distance from the tram line so grand for transport in to Manchester City center or airport, in zone 3. If getting a ticket for the day £4.30 all day travel for shopping or if going to a match. Just make sure you get a ticket from the machine in the platform as you can't pay in the tram. And if stoped it's a £1000 fine for avoiding the fair.

Stayed here last night, great location, 10 mins walk to Metrolink. Room clean and comfortable, host very helpful and accommodating. Highly recommended 👍
