Excellent bar,with out door seating,friendly staff, albeit drinks can be a little pricey,so be mindful of that, toilets beautifully clean.

That was an amazing experience, the hotel is perfectly located, in one of the coolest area of Manchester. Close from everything, for a first time in Manchester it was absolutely perfect. The room was super clean, spacious and I have to be honest, I had the best night of my entire life : the quality of the mattress was UNBELIEVABLE, it was like sleeping in a cloud (had to ask what was the reference to the reception and I’m planning to buy one soon). My final point and the biggest one is the quality of the service you get here, just amazing you guys are SO reactive and so nice : special thanks to Joshua and Daria, you guys are the best and I hope to see you again when I will come back, the Velvet is lucky to have you, sincerely. If you were wondering which hotel you were going to book, please do not and book this one, trust me!

While having a day out in Manchester we popped in for a drink , my partner who is a huge Kylie Minogue fan of some 25 years asked staff member Cameron for a bottle of Kylie Prosecco , he served the bottle with a wines by Kylie glass , which made my partners day , which was thoughtful form the staff which is rare down canal street now. A days , it just shows how incredibly important good staff are

Great hotel Highly recommend to anyone visiting the staff in the hotel were amazing all the way thru till the end no complaints everyone was welcoming and nice we also attended on a day when the protests were happening and the women on reception reassured us that it was safe and all organised. They would always greet us with smiles and also responded to our request really quick like providing a fan to cool our room and show us how to open the windows. Overall our stay was lovely we had a clean room and all the staff were amazing the only way the hotel could improve is maybe better sound proofing from the outside as there was some bass we could hear from music from nearby events and clubs but i understand it’s out of the control of the staff.

Just awful, I didn’t sleep. I booked a room because the corporate event I was speaking at had a discount with Velvet. Some rooms mentioned that you might hear noise from the downstairs bar so I booked a more expensive room. There was loud music until 3am, with bass that I could feel reverberating. This was a Tuesday night and I had a work event the next day. Why offer a discount for business travellers if you’re a party hotel? The front desk were really rude in the morning and kept me waiting for 40 minutes, then offered me a 20% refund. They said it was my fault and I should have asked to change rooms in the middle of the night. Room was fine in general but dirty, needed a hoover and the windows cleaned. Small marks on the sheets. Avoid like the plague, I’d rather stay in a hostel.

Paul was a fantastic bar tender and made us several amazing cocktails. Great bar.

This might be the best street in Manchester. The Velvet Hotel is very well located. The rooms are beautiful. The staff are attentive to requests, even at night! I thank Oscar, Daria, and the entire team.
