First impression nice modern hotel and friendly staff. The rooms are okay but there is a light from the mirror that doesn’t turn off making it hard to sleep if you’re light sensitive. The phone in my room didn’t work and I tried to order room service but it didn’t work. I rang the reception with my phone and they put me on hold for 10 mins. Also they don’t refill your water in your rooms. The bathroom was a bit dirty but I thought this was fine. But upon waking up I had several bites, I didn’t think much but then the next day I had several more bites. I spoke to staff and they moved me to an available room. This is still a bit traumatising though and I will be deep cleaning all my clothes. The new room smelled a bit mouldy as the bathroom shower door didn’t close properly I think water and damp had build up here. The breakfast service is unusually slow. The poor waiter/server and seater was so stressed there system took along time for him to process people in. It took 15 mins to be seater for breakfast in a queue of 6.

Great location close to Piccadilly station. Rooms were cozy and clean. Friendly service at check in and was allowed to check in earlier than advertised. Lots of coffee shops and restaurants within 5 min walk.

Great central venue, food was tasty and well presented but I'd say there wasn't quite enough buffet for our booked number of attendees. Coffee wasnt great though 😕

Hotel room was clean and stylish. Hotel very central and a 2min walk from the train station. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would gave been a perfect 5*, but we had the poached eggs for breakfast and the sauce over them was very sour and inedible. Hopefully this was just a one off kitchen error. I would 100% return to this hotel.

Afternoon Tea at Mal Brasserie, Manchester: Mal Brasserie at Malmaison Manchester Piccadilly delivers an exceptional afternoon tea that beautifully balances playful innovation with top-tier service. From creative savory twists to stunning pastries, this experience is a must-visit for food lovers in the city. The Savoury Starters: the experience opens with an impressive selection of delicious appetisers.Falafel Burger: Incredibly soft, flavourful, and a brilliant modern addition.Corn Spare Ribs: Perfectly cooked and smothered in lashings of rich ranch dressing. Cray & Prawn Cocktail: Crispy, light, and wonderfully refreshing. The Perfect Pour: to accompany the savouries, we opted for the blackberry and raspberry tea. This fruity blend was an absolute dream, cutting through the richness of the food perfectly. Exquisite Sweet Treats: the cake selection is a visual and culinary triumph, the Red Apple was the absolute highlight of the afternoon. It is a stunningly crafted masterpiece featuring a soft, creamy interior with a vibrant raspberry filling. The Coconut & Cream Cake is light, beautifully balanced, and delicious. Whilst the Crème Brûlée although well-made, this pudding felt a little out of place for us, as we are generally not fans of egg-based desserts. No afternoon tea is complete without the obligatory scones, but Mal Brasserie puts a playful spin on tradition. Instead of the usual jam, these scones are served with cream and toffee sauce. Funnily enough, it works beautifully and adds a memorable, decadent touch. Faultless Service & Ambiance: for many part of the experience of an excellent afternoon tea is the hospitality, and the service here was completely faultless. Staff topped up our drinks several times and made frequent, courteous inquiries to ensure we had everything we needed. ✨ Top Tip: If you can, request to be seated in one of the curved booths facing the main road. It offers a more secluded escape from the dining room noise and serves as the perfect spot to people-watch. Hats off to Mal Brasserie Manager and team—we will definitely be revisiting!

Didn't stay - only popped in for a cocktail on our way to the train, ended up drinking 3 really good cocktails. 🥂
