I love the scenery this place has also rich in history. Some small rabbits , birds and geese can be seen throughout the evening hours , beautiful mornings
As a 10 year Hilton Diamond member, I have to say, this was the most disappointing stay I’ve ever had. I am still shocked at the utter disrepair and neglect. From the moment you enter the building, you’re met with absolutely disgusting carpet. There are huge water spots and stains every few feet. I was traveling with 16 other people, so it would have been difficult to relocate. We suffered through, but we were all pretty miserable. The staff in the restaurant, however, couldn’t have been nicer, but this entire place needs a complete renovation. The potential is there - modeled after Monticello and positioned on a golf course - sounds absolutely delightful. But we were shocked when we discovered the golf course is deserted. The grounds are overgrown, dead trees and bushes, and weed. One plus - the pool was wheelchair accessible and even had a chair lift. Full disclosure - we didn’t use it, but I assume it works. Most hotels don’t have that, so again, the potential for this to be an inclusive and beautiful hotel is there, but the overall theme of our week-long stay was each of us repeatedly asking ourselves and each other how could this possibly be a Hilton hotel….
Great service, loved to be here
I would rate this hotel 2 stars, not 4. The customer service was excellent, and the staff did everything they could to help us. Unfortunately, the property itself is in serious need of maintenance. The building has an old, musty, mildew smell throughout, the main lobby was around 80 degrees, and even the front desk employee had a fan pointed at them because the air conditioning wasn’t keeping up. They shouldn’t have to work in those conditions. Our room’s AC failed, and we had to move rooms in the middle of the night. While the staff handled the situation professionally, it shouldn’t have been necessary in the first place. This property has so much potential. The grounds are beautiful, and it feels like the owners are sitting on a gold mine. With proper investment in maintenance—especially the HVAC system and overall upkeep—it could truly live up to its 4-star rating. Right now, though, it falls well short of that expectation.
Interesting Hilton property. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Room and facilities are very dated. Buildings and amenities need some tender loving care. Restaurant was good and staff was very friendly. Breakfast was not free, but very affordable and lots of options.
Stayed here with a friend, the elevator was so bad I was terrified we’d get stuck and it was very hot inside the elevator. The hotel needs a major renovation. Would not recommend but staff was wonderful.
