second time in the early morning the fire alarm goes off at the property. They have double charged me - i would stay else where in Richmond VA

Probably one of the most unique Hiltons I have ever stayed in! Hilton NEEDS to put money into this place. It would definitely be an investment that would pay off. Rooms are very clean and the beds are very comfortable.

This seems like it was a beautiful hotel at some point, but it’s a bit decrepit and being run on the cheap now. No air conditioning in common areas made for a sweltering wait at an understaffed check-in desk and no amount of begging would get the front desk to turn on the air conditioner in the gym (where the floor was also filthy and the water machine unfilled). The elevators felt and sounded like they were on the verge of collapse. Shame because it’s such a lovely setting, hopefully they decide to put in a bit more effort to making it comfortable!

Older hotel, but very well maintained. Elevator definitely needs updating. My room is quite comfortable. Feels like a cross between a hotel and a B&B.

Place was falling apart. Our first room had no AC. There was no AC in what seemed like any of the buildings there. Place really needed to be updated. I understand it is supposed to be to give off a historical feel, because it certainly did, but everything needed some attention. Seemed to be only one guy running the whole place. He was nice though. Another guest came into the lobby and complained about his fire alarm going off. We checked out 2 hours later. Beautiful property but not quality.

We stayed at this “pet friendly” hotel on our way from Florida to Massachusetts. I was very disappointed in our room. I’m not sure if they leave those with pets in the less desirable rooms but our room was nowhere near 4-star hotel rating. There was a lot of mold in the bathroom shower, rooms smelled funky, and were outdated. Location, grounds, and staff were good. Liked that we could bring our dog to the Tavern Restaurant’s patio.

Beautiful location! On site dining is fantastic, even the Tavern offers a small selection of sandwiches and dishes that are reasonable and good portions.

This place is an enigma. Looks like they were trying to build a hotel resort but never got around to properly finishing it. It looks like it ought to have a golf course but it doesn't. The whole place has the vibe of The Overlook Hotel from The Shining. A once elegant hotel that's falling into decay. Aside from the noisy AC unit in the room, it was very quiet. If there were other guests staying there, we didn't hear them. The nearby street noise was only apparent when we went outdoors. Good water pressure in the shower. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast costs extra so we didn't even check it out, as there are plenty of nearby alternatives.
