Monterey Peninsula Pride

Monterey Peninsula Pride is the volunteer-run nonprofit (501c3, founded 2017) behind the region's signature LGBTQ+ celebration. Each June it organizes the Monterey Peninsula Pride parade and festival, which steps off around 11am down Alvarado Street in downtown Monterey and culminates in a celebration at Custom House Plaza featuring dozens of community organizations, live entertainment and vendors. Beyond the annual festival, the organization maintains a year-round LGBTQ+ resource directory for Monterey County covering youth services, health resources and community groups, and partners with local businesses such as Old Capitol Books on recurring queer social events. For travelers and new residents alike, Monterey Peninsula Pride is the best single starting point for finding what is happening in the local community.
