Hilton Garden Inn Norwalk

Checked in about an hour ago. The lobby is unbelievably hot...no a/c. Waited at the bar for at least 10 minutes before we were greeted and served. No one at the front desk. Phone ringing endlessly. Hotel is in rough shape. I am truly surprised that it has passed corporate inspecrions..Dirty, furniture falling apart, staff unattentive. Luckily we are only here for one night. Be forewarned. For the rates they are charging and with this flag I expected much more.

I honestly don't understand how this hotel justifies charging nearly $300 a night. This is an $80 room at best. The shower is poorly designed. When you turn it on, you're forced to stand in the path of a blast of cold water. There is no practical way to start the shower without getting wet and cold first. The Wi-Fi experience was equally frustrating. The room number and last name login would not work. The front desk then gave me a code to use instead, but that didn't work either. After I had already returned to my room, I had to get dressed again and go back to front desk. The single staff member seemed unsure how to resolve the issue and even asked me to bring my laptop to the front desk. By the time I returned, both my phone and laptop suddenly connected, but nobody could explain why. The next disappointment was that the speed was , by today standards, horrible. 5.11 mpbs down and 2.66 mbps up. For a property carrying the Hilton name, I expected much better. The overall experience felt more like a budget motel than a Hilton-branded hotel. Save your money unless you simply need a place to sleep and don't expect anything special. Tired motel with little service. I asked for a correction to the shower and was told it was cared for to find nothing done. Handicapped accessible room not ADA compliant.

I had a very pleasant stay here and found it to be a clean and well-maintained choice for a night or two. The rooms are spacious and the beds are quite comfortable, which made it easy to get some rest after a busy day. I really appreciated the convenience of having an on-site restaurant for breakfast, and the fitness center had a decent selection of equipment for a quick workout. The staff were professional and handled check-in quickly, which is always a plus when you're traveling. It’s located in a practical spot that makes getting to local businesses or attractions fairly simple. While it’s a standard hotel experience without many frills, it is a very consistent and reliable option for anyone looking for a quality stay in the area.

If you love standing at a front desk for a lifetime waiting for someone to help you this is the place for you! Entire hotel REEKS of cigarette smoke. You are going to smell like it when you leave. As for the rooms...well the delightful smoke is in those as well. The beds are squeaky and loud. The ceilings on the 3rd floor appear to be falling inward. Bathroom is run down with lots of cracks and who doesn't love a towel rack with your clean towels in the shower with you?! Wifi? Nope you will have to go to the front desk and wait til they grace you with their presence to hope they give you the secret code to get onto it cause your last name and room number will not work here. And definitely don't get your hopes up for the pool/hot tub after your long journey. Those aren't currently working but when I booked there was no mention of it. After 12+ hours of driving to land here and find that out was super awesome. You're also going to have to fork over $18 for that continental breakfast if you are brave enough to try it. Saw housekeeping taking out dirty trash/recyclables underneath clean towels/linens as well. I would definitely not recommend this hotel. Very rundown.. Edit to add more! Hope you like sharing your one wash cloth they provide and dont expect that fridge in your room to be very cold when the door doesn't shut all the way and runs all night long keeping you up! And these walls be paper thin. I heard ALL of my neighbors bathroom activities. And I do mean all.

Great place and very well kept hotel. The staff are very friendly that when someone walks by you they greet you at any time of the day. Walking distance to a few good lunch and dinner restaurants. Breakfast at the hotel is a must as the hostess greet worth a cheerful smile and there to help you with anything.

THIS IS THE WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER BEEN IN MY LIFETIME STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL UNLESS THE ALTERNATIVE IS SLEEPING UNDER A BRIDGE DURING A SNOWSTORM. THIS HOTEL DOES NOT OWN A VACUUM CLEANER. ALL THE HOTEL HALLWAYS AND ROOMS ARE FILTHY; DIRT CAKED ON THE FLOORS AND WALL. I STAYED AT THIS HOTEL FOR 12 DAYS DUE TO BLIZZARD. NOT ONCE DID I SEE THE MAID SERVICE VACUUME THE ROOMS AND HALLWAYS. THEY DO NOT CHANGE THE SHEETS AND PILLOW CASES. I HAD TO BRING MY OWN BED SHEETS, PILLOW CASES AND COMFORTER. OTHER HOTELS THAT I HAVE STAYED IN MY LIFETIME, THEY CHANGE THE SHEETS AND VACUUMED THE FLOORS DAILY. I COULD TELL THAT THE BEDDINGS WERE NOT CHANGED AS SOON AS I CHECKED IN. THEY DO NOT CHANGE THE SHEETS FROM ONE OCCUPANT TO ANOTHER, THE WHITE SHOWER CURTAIN TURNED YELLOWISH FROM VISIBLE BODY OILS AND DIRT OF PREVIOUS OCCUMPANTS. I USED A BIG BOX OF LYSOL WIPES, A GALLON OF UNDILUTED LYSOL TO SPRAY THE BATHROOM, SINK, TOILET, TABLES, CHAIRS, DOORS, DOOR KNOBS, HANDLES, HEADBOARD, LAMPS , MICROWAVE, FRIDGE, ETC. THE BED THAT I SLEPT ON WAS SO OLD, THAT THE BED SPRINGS ARE BROKEN. THERE WAS A BIG INDENTATION ON THE MATTRESS WHERE MY BODY LAID. CLEARLY A HEAVY SET FAT MAN OR WOMAN HAS BEEN LAYING IN THE SAME SPOT FOR MONTHS OR YEARS TO HAVE THAT EFFECT. THE CHAIRS AND COUCHES IN THE LOUNGE AT THE LOBBY ARE DIRTY AND TATTERED. THE BREAKFAST IS THE WORST, OVERPRICED AND LIMITED. THE MIDDLE AGED HEAVY SET WAITRESS IS RUDE. THIS HOTEL HAS NO BUSINESS BEARING THE NAME HILTON. THERE MANY OTHER NEGATIVE REVIEWS ABOUT THIS HOTEL SO YOU MUST BELIEVE THEM AND ME. I WAS NOT THE FIRST NOR WILL BE THE LAST. UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET SICK FROM INFECTION AND OTHER COMMUNICABLE DISEASES, FIND ANOTHER HOTEL. WHEN I GOT HOME, I WASHED ALL THE BED SHEETS AND CLOTHING I WORE IN HOT WATER...

The rooms were clean but it is abundantly clear they don’t have enough staff. I really do expect better for a Hilton brand.

Had a great stay and as a plus, got a chance to meet WuTang clan.
