About this place Hilton Garden Inn Norwalk

Hilton Garden Inn Norwalk is a mid-range chain hotel on Main Avenue (Route 7) in Norwalk, Connecticut. It is a gay-friendly mainstream hotel, not a gay venue, and it mostly serves business travellers and visitors to coastal Fairfield County. Facilities include an indoor pool, an on-site restaurant, free Wi-Fi and a shuttle for the local area. The location is handy for the Merritt Parkway and the corporate offices along Route 7; for SoNo's restaurants and the train to New York you will need the shuttle or a short drive. Google reviews average around 3.9.

Rooms were modern and clean. Parking was plentiful. Amenities and entertainment in the area were close. Access to the highway was close. I interacted with Gavil and Chris who were both super friendly, helpful, and professional. Great stay overall.

mid week stay early June 2026. multi night stay. have stayed here several times before over the recent years with happy results. two stars are for buffet breakfast and nice front desk staff. went to use the swimming pool on third day and pool water is hot. manager and staff unaware. manager says he's new, only here 2 months as if that's an excuse. he seems unconcerned until we point out all the power that's being used to keep pool hot. lobby has no AC during our entire time. one of two elevators is broken also. the rugs in the elevators and throughout are very old. different hotel than what we recall. NO ONE is maintaining this place and it's certainly not up to any Hilton standards. corporate needs to look closely at what's going on here.

Were in town for a wedding. Bride and Groom stated hotel confirmed they would honor early check in the wedding guests if we called ahead as we were all driving from out of state. I called multiple times before the day we were checking in to request early check in (mind you - I'm not talking 8am check in- I was asking for between 1-2pm (after check out time)). Each time I called I was told to call back on a different day. Finally the day before our stay-I was told they would assign a room and ensure it was cleaned before we got there. Not only did that not happen, my entire family got there AFTER us and got into their rooms immediately, while we waited for nearly a half hour before we were finally given a different room than the one assigned that was already ready (not sure why this wasn't offered earlier). We missed the wedding shuttle and had to drive to the venue. No apologies, no nothing from the staff. We stayed at a Hilton the night before in Bristol and it was like night and day in terms of service levels. The staff service at this hotel is atrocious- type of vibe where it feels like you are annoying them by being there and them having to do their job. I would not recommend this hotel nor would I ever stay there again. Service at this hotel is an embarrassment to the Hilton name.

Rooms were nice but well used. Need some work on repairs. Only one Elevator was working. Swimming pool was out of commission due to upgrades. Some of the equipment was broken in the exercise room. Great location. Local restaurants are a walk away, so is a Walmart. Breakfast is not free. Wifi is not free.
