Surrounded by the local atmosphere, being a "traveler" actually brings a fresh perspective to the shop, and provides a wonderful reason to chat with the regulars and make new friends. The shop's specialty curry comes in many varieties, and I heard that they recently added a "Taiwanese-style curry." I'm really looking forward to visiting the shop again! The master and bartenders are all very friendly and warm, so there's absolutely no need to worry even if you visit alone. That's because Dungaree has a sense of security like coming home, and once you close the door, it's a place where you can be your true self. Their signature curry comes with a wonderful variety of choices, and I heard they’ve recently been serving Taiwan-style curry as well. I truly cannot wait for the day I get to visit again! The owner and the bartenders are all so welcoming that visiting alone is never an issue. Dungaree feels just like coming home—a haven where, once the door closes, you can unapologetically be yourself. Best bar in Ōsaka. Staff and owner’s friends were so nice to us and friendly, this is a must visit.

I went to Dungaree based on the recommendation of Pokapokaya’s owner. It surpassed my expectations. The staff were so warm and welcoming I had to back another night to try the boss’s curry with my cocktail. The prices were reasonable and the small space just made everyone’s laughter feel that much more personable. If you don’t speak Japanese (and do speak English), don’t worry as the staff have different levels of English and will keep joking and chatting with you for your stay. If you do speak Japanese, I think you would have an even better time interacting with the lively customers. Will be back asap next time I am in Osaka.

Hideki is a great host! Such a charming vibe in this gay bar in Umeda. The curries are amazing, the must to try it’s the Dungaree Signature. Thank you so much for hosting us and for great company! 🥰
