For 500 Taiwanese dollars, you can drink unlimited alcohol (insane value for money). Beer and cocktails are available. They even have Long Island Iced Tea! I visited alone, but the local friends were so friendly and approached me first that I had a blast until dawn before returning to my accommodation. This was my first time in Taichung, Taiwan, and thanks to these kind and wonderful Taiwanese friends, I am returning with unforgettable memories from the last night of my trip. Thank you so much 🥰
Drinks are great and the crowd is friendly even for a foreigner
My first time at SAO House. I originally just wanted a drink, but I was blown away by the atmosphere, the people's enthusiasm, and the unexpected encounter with my ex's current boyfriend! 🥲 Honestly, this bar has a vibe that says, "You're not here to drink, you're here to download new friends." Even though the person at the next table was singing "Wild Rose" off-key, I still applauded them because it was so genuine (and I've sung off-key before, so I know 😩). The bartender was super nice; he didn't have that cold, knowing-it-all attitude. Instead, he'd ask, "Is this your first time here? Would you like one of our signature drinks? It's strong... but very soothing." However, despite the amazing atmosphere, there are a few things to mention: The indoor smoke smell is incredibly strong. Walking in, your nose might feel like you're next to an old man's shrine. Seating is limited, and if you arrive late, you'll likely be standing to socialize, unless you look like an Instagram favorite for VIP treatment (I'm not... I'm pretty average...). But all these minor drawbacks are completely overshadowed by the warmth, the familiarity of the gay community, and the relaxed atmosphere of karaoke. Even if you arrive in a bad mood, you'll leave with a feeling of "like someone hugged me."
The boss was friendly, and the staff were very welcoming. Everyone sang together; it was a lot of fun!
It's terrible. The counter keeps playing music.
Didn't get to try, the air was so bad we walked out immediately without ordering.
