We were here at Sunparks Kempense Meren for the first time. Good reception and a clean, large swimming pool with 3 slides and a wild water ride. The cottage was a bit more disappointing: no dishwasher, oven, drying rack, small kitchen/fridge, few power outlets, no fan, and constant problems with the Wi-Fi and reception (had no signal for 2 days). We visited in June, during the heatwave, and there were no fans to be found in the cottages. They didn't offer any at the reception either. After 7 pm, there was nothing left to do. All bars were closed, there were no evening activities, and the majority of dining options were closed (Monday to Wednesday); there is only a buffet on Saturdays. During the day, there are many activities such as tennis, padel, minigolf, pedal boats, interactive Wall Game, bowling, etc., though they are all on the more expensive side. I would not recommend coming at the beginning of the high season or even the low season. Apart from swimming, there isn't really much to do here.

Warm greetings to fellow vacationers 🖖 We spent four nights at the resort. There were definitely some ups and downs to report from that time. We'll start with the negatives and finish with the positives. The negatives: - The knives were very dull (of course, a knife sharpener was packed). There were mainly butter knives and no steak knives. Luckily, our steaks were tenderly prepared by my travel companion. - The toilet was generally unpleasant. Due to a lack of ventilation, the previous occupants' smells lingered for a very long time. Because of the summer heat, these smells intensified into a very unpleasant, almost unbearable stench (beer-soaked feces are deadly here). - The television had many shortcomings: 1. Only two German channels. While browsing the channels, my eyes were pleased to find ARTE, which offered a bit of educational television. However, this was only possible because of the foreign language spoken there. A shame! ... 2. My thoughtful travel companion also brought along a soundbar and subwoofer, which he had painstakingly packed. Unfortunately, during setup, we discovered that a Bluetooth connection wasn't possible. The necessary ARC HDMI port was also missing, which I find simply unbelievable these days! 3. As is often said, the technology should outweigh the size, but this certainly doesn't apply to the TV installed in the house. Despite its Full HD resolution, nothing is visible on the screen. Glasses, magnifying glasses, or other aids wouldn't solve the problem. Trying to see anything on this screen is like trying to solve a hidden object puzzle. When we played the blockbuster and fan favorite Skylanders Giants on the PlayStation 3, we had to struggle to make out anything at all… We were on the familiar level 6 when we finally had to admit that a competitive, skill-based game is simply impossible on this screen! 4. Overall, I simply cannot fathom how the aforementioned points could have been overlooked when purchasing the television. Wow! - Another point of criticism would be the beds. The beds there are like small talk with a coworker—mediocre. You lie down on the beds to sleep, and when you wake up in the morning, you get up voluntarily. - The sofas were a guess (only the seat cushions on the sofa were kind to one's backside). - The biggest and final point of criticism is the warmth, or rather, the heat in the house. At the beginning of the vacation, my travel companion and I longed for a sauna. After four nights, we certainly didn't need one anymore. It was so incredibly hot in this place that the beads of sweat formed puddles in our crevices. The heat was bearable in the morning, but unbearable from midday onward. By the time you fell asleep, you were a single puddle. The mattress probably contains more water than the lake there. Staying in that house was like trying to solve a hidden object puzzle on TV (extremely difficult). Anyone who takes their grandparents there for a summer holiday will be hoping it's their last. Now for the positives: - Let's start with the incredibly comfortable plastic garden chairs. They offer the most comfortable and pleasant way to stay still in the house. - The food was very tasty overall. But my travel companion did the cooking. - There was a lawn right next to our accommodation. This provided the perfect opportunity for a friendly sparring match with my travel companion. During an intense, but friendly, wrestling match, we really polished our jaws. However, this isn't an optional extra. You have to bring your own equipment and find a suitable patch of grass. - The lake there is beautiful. I would have liked to stay there with a woman.

I am very disappointed. Everywhere is insects. Way too dirty. Very hot, even not a little ventillator. The shop is so expensive, the food in the restaurant cannot be eaten. We bought a mocktail what was just a sirup. So stinky, dirty. No wifi and just nonsense excuses. Gardenfurniture in the living room. In the restaurant area is so hot, i eveb couldn't stay there 5mins. I got bit from insects, and i am scared to get now infections too. What a shame
