The rooms are boring in terms of design, but that's the standard, otherwise nice, the furniture is maintained, the bathroom is beautiful. Quiet despite the tram stop right next to the hotel The breakfast is very decent, the staff is happy to meet your needs outside of the buffet. They don't have a modern selection of drinks, but in the end we managed to come up with an espresso tonic, not matcha, but I'm the hippie in a 5* hotel for tie-dye people 🤷🏻‍♀️😂 The hotel has a great location, by the tram, close to the main station, in the center, with parking available. The reception is beautiful, the common areas are well maintained What I would highlight is the piano that beautifully stretches through the hotel at night, whether it's to the saunas (which are great) or even up to the rooms. There is also a gym and a bar

Excellent location, right in the city center, and the building has a great architecture. The rooms are large, and the breakfast was okay. However, overall, the hotel does not quite live up to 5-star standards. There are details and things in the room that do not look quite as they should for this category.

Our stay at the Grand Palace Hotel was supposed to be a pleasant break in a five-star hotel. Instead, it turned into a chain of operational, administrative and hygiene failures, which the hotel subsequently crowned with a completely absurd approach to complaints. Already during the reservation, the staff made a mistake in our name (despite assurances that they had fixed everything in the system), which led to an unpleasant 45-minute wait at the reception. Then, instead of the quiet spacious attic room we had reserved (superior attic), they assigned us a room facing a noisy street on the first floor near the elevator due to overbooking. The hotel called it an “upgrade to Deluxe”, even though the room had zero utility value for us due to the noise and did not correspond to the stated category in terms of equipment or size (see attached attached photos of the actual appearance of the room versus photos from the hotel website). The extra bed for my daughter was not prepared even after three urgent requests. When they finally set it up, there were leftover food and foreign objects in it. Moreover, after it was laid out, it was almost impossible to move around the room, as it blocked the entrance to the bathroom. During our stay, the declared slippers and towels for a third person were missing, and the shower did not drain. The apology bottle of frizzante for the botched check-in, which was given to us upon arrival, was also taken away by housekeeping the next day and returned only after our intervention. We resolved everything before departure and the duty manager personally acknowledged all the mistakes. However, subsequent email communication showed absolute disrespect for the customer. The hotel refused to refund even part of the amount paid for the stay, referring to "internal rules". When we reached a compromise and asked for a 30% discount on the price (approx. 3,000 CZK), the hotel sent us a voucher for 1 night, although we announced that we were not interested in visiting Brno again, as it would only mean additional costs for us and no real compensation. The hotel immediately sent an e-mail where they started to convert everything into table prices. In the value of the “benefits” they included the price of the dirty extra bed, which they prepared only after the emergency services, and the frizzante with dessert, which they gave us as an apology for the spoiled check-in. The quality of a 5* hotel is known by how it handles crisis situations. Grand Palace Brno failed completely. I referred the matter to the Czech Trade Inspection (ADR) and although the hotel has potential (the entrance hall is beautiful and the breakfasts were very good), I cannot recommend it for its very unprofessional and alibi-based approach to solving problems.
