O Copenhagen Pride — oficialmente Mermaid Pride — é o maior evento do orgulho da Escandinávia, com mais de 350 mil participantes em Copenhague para uma semana de eventos que culmina na parada pelo centro. A parada percorre as principais ruas no sábado, passando por marcos como Rådhuspladsen, e chega ao palco principal perto da orla. A programação ao redor cobre noites de balada nos endereços da Studiestræde e em toda a cidade, eventos culturais em museus e galerias, shows ao ar livre, festas em barcos no porto e painéis comunitários. É o evento que melhor encapsula o significado histórico LGBTQ+ específico da Dinamarca: primeiro país a reconhecer legalmente parcerias entre pessoas do mesmo sexo (1989), primeira igreja nacional a realizar casamentos entre pessoas do mesmo sexo (2012), anfitrião da WorldPride 2021 com Malmö. The parade steps off from Frederiksberg Radhusplads at 1pm on Saturday Aug 15 — get there by noon if you want a spot up front along the 3.3 km route.
Scandinavia's largest Pride, with roughly 40,000 marchers in 160 groups and hundreds of thousands of spectators — pack water and comfortable shoes.
The Metro M1/M2 lines drop you close to the route; driving into the city centre on parade day is a lost cause.
2026 marks Copenhagen Pride's 30th anniversary, so expect an extended programme at Pride Square across the week.
