About This Event

Copenhagen turns 2026 into a milestone: it's the city's 30th Pride, and the week leans into a defiant theme — "Pride: until the job is done!" — a nod to the political headwinds the LGBTQIA+ community faces at home and abroad. Pride Week runs Saturday 8 to Sunday 16 August, more than a hundred events spread across the city.

The centre of it is Pride Square on Rådhuspladsen, the City Hall square. It's free and open to everyone, and it runs all week: a main stage, a debate tent, a big queer fleamarket, drag nights, children's Pride and the closing concert. You don't buy a ticket to Copenhagen Pride — the core of it is public space, and that's the point.

The parade is Saturday 15 August, stepping off at 1pm from Frederiksberg Rådhus and running about four kilometres through Allégade, Frederiksberg Allé, Vesterbrogade and into the centre, ending at Pride Square. More than 250,000 people come out for it. The day before, on Friday, there's a quieter walk-through of the route for anyone who wants to experience it with less noise and crowd — Copenhagen was the first Pride in the world to adopt the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower, and 2026 is its fourth year running it.

Practical notes: the whole thing is walkable and the metro is excellent, so you won't need taxis. August in Copenhagen is mild but can turn wet — bring a layer. The bars around Studiestræde run the late nights, and boat parties work the harbour through the week. Book a room early; the city is busy for this one.

Practical Tips

The parade steps off from Frederiksberg Radhusplads at 1pm on Saturday Aug 15 — get there by noon if you want a spot up front along the 3.3 km route.

Scandinavia's largest Pride, with roughly 40,000 marchers in 160 groups and hundreds of thousands of spectators — pack water and comfortable shoes.

The Metro M1/M2 lines drop you close to the route; driving into the city centre on parade day is a lost cause.

2026 marks Copenhagen Pride's 30th anniversary, so expect an extended programme at Pride Square across the week.
