Our visit to Le Petit Chef was unfortunately a disappointment – especially considering the high price. We paid around €250 for two adults, and for that price, we expected a significantly more exceptional overall experience. The ambiance was lacking from the start. The room was very dark, and we were seated in a rather unremarkable corner without any special decoration or atmosphere. At that price, we would have expected more elegant furnishings, a special ambiance, or at least a nice view. Instead, it unfortunately felt a bit like a storage room in the Grand Hyatt. We also would have found a glass of champagne or at least a glass of sparkling wine upon arrival appropriate at this price, but unfortunately, it wasn't offered. After being seated at our table, we would have appreciated a brief personal greeting and an explanation of the concept and the procedure. There was no introduction of the chef or any kind of brief introduction. At some point, the projector simply switched on, and the show began. While the projection on the table is certainly an interesting idea, it didn't ultimately convince us. The presentation felt somewhat like a computer-animated video game, and we didn't really learn much about the dishes or their preparation. Furthermore, some of the dishes shown didn't quite match what was subsequently served. We found "Le Petit Chef's" voice rather irritating. The humorous interludes also didn't go down particularly well – at least not with the other diners around us. The food itself was generally of decent quality, and the dishes were tasty. However, for the price, what was offered was, in our opinion, far too simple and unspectacular. The appetizer consisted of mozzarella with tomato, pesto, and arugula, followed by a fried cucumber with white beetroot, and then a good but unremarkable goulash. The fourth course was mashed potatoes and a tiny piece of wolffish. For dessert, you were expected to help yourself and add your own finishing touches. We've had other fine-dining experiences where, for significantly less money, we enjoyed much higher quality, more creativity, and above all, a greater variety of dishes. This is exactly what we expected from Le Petit Chef, given the concept and the price. While the service was generally friendly and adequate, there were a few minor oversights: for example, the wrong dish was served, and our water glass was missing at one point. Our conclusion: The food was tasty, but overall, we felt it lacked the quality, creativity, and special experience one would expect for around €250 for two people. The projection alone doesn't justify the price in our opinion. For the overall package offered, we believe the experience is significantly overpriced and not recommended.
The fantastic combination of animated show, great food and excellent service harmonizes perfectly.
The show started, it was magical and adorable! The food was perfect! The service was very good! The room was air-conditioned, everything was perfect!
"Fantastic atmosphere and a great show, plus the food was excellent."
...the whole show was a wonderful experience....
It was a truly fantastic experience. We highly recommend it.
A culinary phenomenon! It doesn't get any better than this – I can guarantee you that.
