A super nice bookstore with a competent FLINTA* team that always gives me good advice and beautifully wraps gifts.

A really lovely, cozy bookstore. They have a great selection of books, especially many lesser-known titles. You can discover lots of new things here. The staff are also incredibly friendly. I bought two books, and they even included an envelope with cute postcards. If I'm ever in Hanover again, I'll definitely stop by. <3

One of my favorite bookstores in Hanover

Hermann Bahns
Hermann Bahns Jun 2025

Hermann Bahns O Linden think of Rudolf Sinz's critique of political economy, stored in the university library's archive: Sinz's papers, —however it may be, suicide out of despair. Saturday market day, when the old folks are let loose, the man dutifully carries the baskets. How many want to leave here, but how many arrive? Carrots, apples and cheese, it's all there, I'm not interested, I'd rather sit in the "Centrum" with a delicious cappuccino, smoking and looking around... It's time the plums have to go, €1 a kilo, the vendor wants to go on vacation, everything must go, the old folks are groaning, the prices, and my bones are already aching in the babble of voices, the air shimmers in the last sunbeams, laughter, market shouts... the young and the dear little ones are whining and chewing milk rolls, no progress, I see no joy, more than sun and blue sky: not on offer today, espresso break on the verge of collapse, grimaces, lifelessness, long faces, quickly to Edeka Wucherpfennig, it's cheaper too... It's time Limmerstrasse is nearby, Let's go there, afterwards, brushing off the hustle and bustle in the jumble of cultures, on the Ihme and Leine rivers with ducks and licorice in our mouths, we keep chewing, maybe in the evening to the Apollo cinema, what's playing in the late show tonight? Oh, Betty Blue with the incomparable, yes... back, wasn't the brewery chimney there, now a small colony, bordered by the dead Ihme Center, where it says "Organic" there used to be brewery horses in the yard, children were allowed to ride them on Sundays, neophytes, already settled in brick houses, it occurs to me: where linden trees... It's time ends, is Limmer, where Jews were beaten to death... Rubber trees grew on the canal bank right next to the allotment gardens, not far from "Sleeping Beauty" with the delicious potato salad on boring Sundays, the last evening with Rudolf Sinz, the early dead man, for whom "Capital" grew over his head , pub names, "And the Big Bad Wolf" replaced the... "Snow White," too much noise and weed, way in the back the bookseller Petra, who foamed up her name to "Arte P," however, where was the art, I leave, dodging now and constantly, searching in vain for a snack bar, oh, it's gone, but doner kebabs and pizza have become foreign home, also countless hairdressers, children's clothes, knick-knacks, pharmacies, back to Lindener Markt, quickly take a look at the "Villa Stephanus" in Gartenallee apartment in the tower €2200/month, who could live there, certainly not a punk, it There's still time for Annabee, it's always worth it, great windows, great thing, great books. Postscript: No one remembers the date when the containers on the yard, where horses once enjoyed life, housed dozens Asian refugees, greeted with solidarity, but unloved and unwelcome. No one knew the concept of globalization, and "critique of political economy" was something for students who played alienation at Plümmecke's over currywurst and beer. It's time!
