The elevator triggers age-old fears. At 2 a.m., the guests scream at each other in the hallway for half an hour. The beds are so hard... The furnishings so basic. You feel like you're in prison. Never again!

We had already logged in online and received a call two hours beforehand to give us an approximate arrival time. The GPS indicated about two hours. Unfortunately, we had a breakdown and couldn't continue our journey. In the commotion, I forgot to inform the hotel. The next morning, we tried to check in, but nothing worked. The lady from the breakfast service was very helpful, but she was told not to give us a room until 3 p.m. We found this very unfriendly and completely unacceptable.

Because of the sunshine, I forgot my jacket and hat. The hotel confirmed over the phone that they had been found and would be forwarded. When they didn't arrive, I called again and also emailed to urge them to be forwarded. Even after several phone calls and emails, they still hadn't been sent. They're not answering the phone, and my email address seems to be blocked. Unfortunately, these things happen – usually due to poor organization, not necessarily malicious intent. Nevertheless, a professional hotel would have resolved this long ago. Should I stay at this hotel again? Should I be worried about my belongings?

The beds were very comfortable and clean, so I slept wonderfully. Furthermore, the location of the hotel is very convenient, as it offers good access to other cities. Overall, I can highly recommend it.

We arrived at night and there was no one to check in to our room. They had left a machine outside. We had to check in ourselves and get the code for the entrance door. This means that if someone doesn't speak German well or knows the language and doesn't have enough knowledge to work with these types of machines, they are officially out for the night. There was no option to call or at least talk to the online reception to get your card set up. The elevator was so old and small that I could only go up with one bag. My family came after me. Overall, this hotel in this city is really crap. I've been to many hotels of this brand, but this was my first experience that was this crap.

Since I knew what I was booking, I wasn't disappointed. The "budget" in the title says it all. For the price, everything was actually quite good. The cleaning staff struck me as very courteous. Previous reviewers had complained about the breakfast. I found it basic, but sufficient. They also replenished it when I asked. Overall: It's a good choice if you don't need a lot of space in your room.
