The food was delicious, and the restaurant's atmosphere and service were excellent. While many of the staff were rather cool and reserved, there was one who loved Japan. They spoke to us in the Japanese they knew and kept the atmosphere lively, making the whole experience enjoyable. We ordered porcini mushroom cream pasta, peperoncino, and panna cotta, and they were all fantastic! The food was incredibly delicious, and I think it was good value for money. I would definitely like to go again when I visit Rome. There seemed to be many tourists from Japan, and they even had a Japanese menu. It seemed like a popular restaurant, with many Western customers as well as Japanese.

Another lovely restaurant in the old Roman quarter - we were absolutely thrilled with the pizza and fish dishes - the service was outstanding!

On our first night in Rome we went to Nerone. It was a great experience. A small family-owned restaurant. The Cacio e pepe was the best I've ever had. And the water in the restaurant comes out of one of Rome's famous nasoni and it's free, unlike many other restaurants in Rome. Our waiter asked the chef how to make Cacio e pepe and I came home and made it myself. It was wonderful too. A young couple was there on their honeymoon and one of the employees serenaded them on the guitar and our waiter sang along. All in all the best meal and experience we could have hoped for. I'll definitely go back if I'm ever in Rome again. I'd recommend it to everyone.
