Barbanarama

They can throw a thousand parties in Chueca, but the real party has been, is, and always will be Barbanarama!! Don't leave Madrid without having a drink here!!

I've been coming here for years and I'll keep coming back. It's one of those places in Chueca where you pop in "for a minute" and end up staying all night. I find the atmosphere incredibly fun, superbly decorated with memorabilia from Operación Triunfo, Drag Race, and Eurovision, with a fantastic energy from the moment you walk in. The music is a real winner if you're into Eurovision, Operación Triunfo, pop, and those killer tracks that make you want to sing along even if you don't mean to. Plus, the prices are pretty good for the area, and it's a huge plus that they have perfectly poured draft beer. Everything has a very friendly and authentic feel, without any pretentiousness. Special mention for Manu, a super jovial and friendly guy who makes the place even better. It's so nice to find places where you're served with such good vibes. Highly recommended for starting or ending your night.

Warm beer bottles, a beer tap with no pressure, a broken air conditioner, disgusting bathrooms… and the best part is the friendliness of the old gentleman behind the bar, who's only serving 25% of the time and judging and criticizing you the other 75%. I recommend going when it's closed.

A great place to grab a few drinks and listen to good music while you dance. Everyone is welcome, and it's a safe place to have fun, enjoy yourself, and meet nice people. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Definitely one of my favorite places in all of Chueca to go out and have a good time at a good price.

If you're looking for a place where you feel at home from the first drink, Barbanarama is exactly that. A truly unique bar, the kind you don't see anymore: welcoming, fun, unpretentious, and with an infectious energy. The music is always there—great tunes, good vibes, and the urge to dance even if you said you were "just going for one"—but the best part is the people. Here, you end up talking to strangers as if they were lifelong friends. You really feel that sense of community, of a chosen family, of a safe haven where everyone contributes. The staff is lovely, the atmosphere is incredibly friendly, and the mix of regulars and newcomers makes every night different. It's one of those bars where you pop in for a while… and end up staying until closing time. Chueca has many places, but few with real soul. And Barbanarama has it. 💜
