Racó del Conill Cruising Area

The scrubby, pine-shaded slope just above the Racó del Conill naturist cove, on the coast between Villajoyosa and Benidorm near the Torre d'Aguiló, has a long-standing reputation as a gay cruising spot. It is busiest on warm afternoons and early evenings through the summer season, drawing a mix of locals and visitors staying along the Villajoyosa--Benidorm strip. There is no formal venue here -- it is an informal, outdoor meeting area reached via the path down from the old coast road. Spain decriminalised homosexuality in 1979 and is among the most accepting countries in Europe, but this is a public natural space: be discreet, respect other beachgoers and hikers using the same paths, take any litter home, and avoid the area after dark when it is isolated.
