This stay from 1st -4th May 2036 was absolutely perfect The staff were both welcoming and friendly no stress and helped us with everything we asked for throughout our stay The room was spacious clean and lovely the room had everything we needed Iron , iron board kettle & refreshments Drinking water hairdryer and even a fan The wardrobes were roomy and came with hangers you can remove and even the room door and the bathroom doors had hangers on them which was handy for getting ready The windows opened fully for fresh air The room maid always came when we were out and remade the room up fabulously for our return The food and drinks in the hotel were also perfect I recommend this hotel to everyone who visits Brighton Situated in trendy kemp town which is in walkable distance to the shops bars and restaurants as well as close to the station the beach the palace pier the pavilion and the marina 5 star service from the staff & management Can’t wait to return again in August when I’m back in Brighton Thank you New Steine hotel Keep doing what your doing 👏👏👏👏👏👏

Stayed here this past weekend and it was perfect, the location, the room, the service. I had everything i needed for a single room

Staff are really helpful, close to the city centre and the seashore. But the shower is a bit tight.

I stayed in room 211 which was the budget two person bed, I went with this option over the single budget due being told the single didn't have it own toilet despite having a shower. The staff were lovely and friendly with them preparing the bed each day, the location as well was rather exceptional close to the coast and several bus pick up points, and each morning you can just walk up the road and then down a nice slope of shops with Meo and Social Board being a highlight. The room however was the weakest point, while well maintained (some things could do with a bit more of an update like sockets and such.) it was one of those rooms that I likely wouldn't have gotten if I knew all the specifics of it. It was located on the very top floor meaning you had to walk up a load of narrow stairs, struggle with a tightly spaced fire door, and then tilt your upper body 45 degrees for the final set of stairs, needless to say not a wise choice of rooms to have to look forwards to after an evening drinking unless you want to have a feeling similar to the Dutch angles of "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" especially after a day out dealing with the various hills of Brighton I hadn't experienced before. The room itself really felt like it was trying to sneak am extra room into a part of the building more intended as a storage space or just a small bedroom, the wardrobe for example had been clearly squashed in as the door wouldn't fully open as it was partly blocked by the wardrobe, it had seemingly been like that for a while as there was a clear repeated visible impact mark on both where they touched. The bathroom was the biggest issue, I'm around 6 foot tall and was unable to lift both elbows up horizontally while in the bathroom so each shower use felt like I had to re-enact Spider-Man poses to shower properly, only made worse by the shower head holder being broken and stuck low so you had to pick it up to have any chance of showering your head. They try to be eco friendly by not providing fresh towels each day unless requested but due to the room it really should be a requirement as the bathroom lacked good ventilation for the towels to be dry the next day. I should also note the doors seem to have a fair bit of sound leakage, the room across from me I could hear a fair bit of noise from up until around 1AM until I heard a few loud knocking bangs which I assumed was someone below telling them off, I was personally not bothered and actually had some pretty good sleep each night I was there, I haven't factored this into the score. I somewhat feel I should score the room a 2/5 but even if I was generous to myself I'm far from a fit person so I'm at least in part to blame for finding the room difficult to use in general, so I gave it 3. If you can put up with an awkward room the location is worth it. Judging by other reviews it seems like it's in part just down to just much you spend on the stay as people seem to like the extras.

Stayed for 2 nights first weekend in March staff were very welcoming especially when they helped me with my bags up to my room the room was good excellent night sleep shame about the phone signal not being very good and could not connect to the WiFi breakfast was excellent very good food and service Had a lovely stay

I just love this hotel 🫶 it’s in an excellent and relatively quiet location in New Steine Square, it’s kept very clean and tidy and is superb value for money, more so if you add the delicious breakfast option - I had the tasty full English each morning, which absolutely filled me up and fuelled an average 9 mile walk each day ! This hotel is not shinny, new and clinical, but it is chock-full of warmth, character and personality - it feels cosy, safe, warm and welcoming, like home. Hervé, Oscar and the rest of the team are all absolutely lovely and very welcoming - nothing was a bother for them. Stayed in both the double and triple rooms and will not hesitate to rebook and 100% recommend The New Steine Hotel - in fact, I don’t think I’ll book or stay anywhere else when I’m ready for my next Brighton mini break !

Great location and a warm welcome at New Steine for our girls' weekend away. Our 5 rooms were all very clean and comfortable and some had lovely views, although one had a poor shower hence the 4 stars. Hervé was very friendly and chatty which really made our trip so pleasant. He even rang to confirm our booking before Christmas to check that all was OK. He suggested we pop to the little café round the corner( Hervés - linked to hotel) for breakfast which we enjoyed as it made our weekend a bit querky and fun. So close to everywhere and Hervé helped us with a parking permit for the Friday and weekend of our stay so that was brill; We parked just round the corner for £18.00. I would advise arriving in the afternoon rather than evening if you want an easy parking slot in Brighton centre. Thanks New Steine!

Lovely place to stay, very convenient for my needs when visiting family Owner is a lovely friendly cheerful gentleman and always makes me feel welcome Breakfast is lovely, although on this visit I tried his place around the corner, Herves cafe, food was lovely

Stayed in room 207. Nice clean room, good shower, but the bed was terrible we both ended up with chronic back pain. The mattress wasn't just hard, it was lumpy and collapsed in the middle. Walls paper thin, we could clearly hear the gentleman next door snoring. Very steep stairs but the manager did take our bags up for us. Nice room, shame about the bed.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Herve was a magnificent host - so friendly and helpful at all times. We especially appreciated having access to a bathroom throughout the day after we checked out. Breakfast was excellent too, lovely soft fried eggs with our cooked breakfast, and brilliant service, with coffee topped up regularly by the warm and friendly waitress.

Close proximity to local shops who sell locally made items . Beach and pier also within a few minutes walk ..
