My Worst Booking Ever – Beware of Scam and Rude Owners A local family rents out three bedrooms in a tiny apartment, but on Booking.com they only show photos of the best room. Unfortunately, the “nice” room is actually rented long-term, so it is never available. Every time you want to enter or leave the appartment, you need to ask a person to follow you up and down the stairs up to the building main door ! You only get a key for your room. Forget about common areas. The living room is only to get water, the kitchen is forbidden, and when you want to access the balcony for a smoke, they look at you in a weird way. The room I got was minimalistic and small, with two little beds, no night lamp (just a plain white ceiling bulb). The window did not open, the walls were thin, and the room was right next to the bathroom. Noise was perturbating, with people coming in and out at all hours, even ringing the bell at 2am. In the morning, the lady received new people, spoke loud, and seemed not aware that the corridor door could be closed to make less noise. How difficult is that to show some respect for the guests…? In conclusion, you pay for what is advertised as a “hotel room” but end up in a noisy, tiny apartment with unpleasant people. If it´s too cheap and well located then there´s a trick… now you know what to expect !
