Cocoa Cottage

We spent 5 nights in the tree house with our 6 year old daughter. Amazing experience because it’s completely open in the forest. No windows, no doors, and the sounds of the rain forest in the night. We’re loved it. Only 4 stars for the room because very limited amenities. E.g. some coffee (even instant coffee) would be great after wake up. Great and friendly service in the restaurants for breakfast and dinner. Only 4 stars because no service to the room is provided (clean up, towels etc). Location is basically great, Roseau valley offers rain forest and fresh air. No need for air condition. A lot of the important sightseeing stuff is near by. Only 4 stars because the cottage is nearby a road with traffic noise during day time. To summarize: a great experience we don’t want to miss. With some easy improvements it would be 5 stars ✨. Thanks especially to the breakfast and dinner crew!!!

I wish we could have stayed here longer. The setting was gorgeous, the service was outstanding, and breakfast and dinner at the cottage were delicious.

A haven of peace in the mountains, yet only 10-15 minutes from Roseau. The garden and mountain views are wonderful. The rooms are spacious and quite comfortable. Parking is readily available on the road. We didn't try the breakfast. Dinner is served at 6 pm, which was too early for us. We preferred to eat out. Prices are the same as on the island.

Lovely place to stay a short drive up the valley from Roseau. The rooms are great, with lots of character and we especially liked lounging on the swing seat watching hummingbirds and enjoying the lush green landscape.

Beautiful cottage! This space is surrounded by nature and was so serene. A lovely getaway from the standard hotel. The staff upgraded me to a larger room with the most beautiful view. Breakfast was fresh and the staff were helpful and accommodating. Highly recommend this space for all the nature lovers.

We loved staying at the Cocoa Cottage! We stayed in the Treehouse for 5 nights during our honeymoon. The treehouse is amazing, with stunning views of the jungle, sounds of the stream below, and visits from birds, frogs, and other wildlife. It was a short drive to all the hiking and nature excursions we wanted to do in this area, including the hike to Boiling Lake, Freshwater Lake, Emerald Pool, etc. We loved the family-style dining and getting to know the other guests. And the food was delicious! Some of the best food we had on the island, both the weekend pizza and local dishes other nights, plus a hearty breakfast each morning. Huge thank you to the wonderful chefs and staff who took great care of us. Our only complaint is that unfortunately there was construction happening every day directly beneath and very near the treehouse, so we did not have much privacy during the day and there was a lot of loud hammering and other construction noises happening throughout the day. We did not get a heads up about this so it was disappointing, especially on one rainy day we had hoped to stay in to relax in the treehouse and enjoy the scenery. Just a warning if you are looking to book the treehouse, maybe check to see if this construction will be ongoing during your stay to manage your expectations. Other than that, we loved every minute! Definitely recommend checking out the Cocoa Cottage if you are visiting Dominica.

We absolutely loved our stay at Cocoa Cottage! With a stunning location in the jungle, the accommodation was super clean and cosy, accessible by bus, and surrounded by lots of wildlife. The staff were super lovely and helpful, offering recommendations and even a lift to the city centre when buses were not available. The shared kitchen area with an accessible fridge was a great option, and we had the option of breakfast (lots of fresh fruit, eggs, coffee & tea) and dinner, which were lovely. Close to some must-visit nature spots in Dominica, we couldn’t recommend this accommodation enough! 🇩🇲

We stayed here for 4 nights in the FouFou room. We really enjoyed it. We had booked breakfast but also stayed for dinner in the evenings. Delicious meals were cooked every night. In short, highly recommended!

Hosts and staff were fantastic. Very good communications. Cottages are close to many of Dominicas best hikes and sites. Site is also very tranquil if you are on a down day. Loved the fact they offer meals onsite. It was a lot of fun to eat with others from all over the world and have a beer at the end of the day.
