La Máxima

La Máxima (also branded 'Nue') is Zipolite's best-known gay venue — Google itself lists it as a gay bar — a beachfront palapa bar and small guesthouse set right on the sand at Playa Zipolite. It is the closest thing the town has to a dedicated LGBTQ+ nightspot, with drag shows in high season, cocktails and a party that runs late by Zipolite's laid-back standards. The setting is pure beach town: sand underfoot, sunset over the Pacific and an easygoing mixed-but-gay crowd.
