Sobre este lugar La Providencia

La Providencia is a dinner restaurant on Calle Shambala, up in the Roca Blanca hills above Zipolite beach. The kitchen does contemporary Mexican cooking and you eat outdoors in a planted garden lit up after dark. It is a mainstream restaurant listed as gay-friendly, not a gay venue, though plenty of the gay travellers who come to Zipolite end up eating here. It rates 4.6 on Google from about 255 reviews. Prices run above the beachfront palapas. It gets busy in high season, so book or arrive early, and bring a torch or take a taxi for the dark, uneven walk back down the hill.

Simply WOW! A gem in Zipolite. If you want to leave amazed, but above all with a full belly and a happy heart, you have to eat here!

This is the second time we've been here. The food both times was excellent. The service felt personal and intimate. My regret is that we did not get the server's name. He made us feel as if we were visiting his home. I cannot recommend this place enough. The atmosphere is quiet, intimate and welcoming. Don't miss this place the next time you're in the area.

Zipolite Under the Stars: An Ode to the Senses at La Providencia My dinner at this fine-dining haven was a truly memorable experience. Its atmosphere captivated me from the moment I walked in. There was color everywhere: papel picado (cut-paper decorations), beautiful Mexican lamps, and large-format paintings (I later learned they're by one of the owners) that give the place a unique personality. For an appetizer, I tried some delicious goat cheese empanadas with tomato, honey, and mint sauce, followed by a rich and comforting chilpachole (a traditional Mexican soup). For my main course, the seared tuna in tamarind sauce with sauteed peppers on a bed of soy noodles was a great choice; it was so fresh that I even told the waiter it looked like the fish had been swimming just moments before. Dessert was a poem: chocolate mousse with orange and cardamom, an intense and elegant finale. I loved that it's a place that combines art, culinary excellence, good service, and a super relaxed beach vibe.

Food was good. However the waitress forgot to order 1 of our groups meals tonight out of the 4 of us. The waitress then forgot to order my margarita, while waiting for dinner. Then the cook had the audacity to bring the last mall that was forgotten, 30 minutes later and expected a thank you. My margerita canes about 45 mins later. This service is not acceptable, especially in the most expensive menu in town.. there were 4 tables in the restaurant, so no excuses for the bad service. Would recommended trying another option close by, with better prices and way better service

This was a most peculiar dining experience. The restaurant is off the beaten path and when my friends and I were there, there was only one other party eating. The chef was asleep or nursing a hangover. I explained to the manager/Mater D and also the waitress. (Who spoke very good English) That I could not eat dairy : milk, cheese, cream, Butter. They understood. They first brought me my soup with pieces of cheese. I sent it back and then they brought me another soup with drizzled cream. Not cool. The chef came around and asked us how our food was, and when we said it was good he demanded us to say more and be more kind. He kept coming by to pester us, and it felt very lecherous. He suggested dessert and I told him there were no dairy free desserts, and he berated me for not eating dairy. It is not a choice and I explained to him I would get very sick. He kept talking and we had to ask for our check several times.
