Radisson Hotel Panama Canal

I stayed there for a whole week. The hotel wasn't really up to the standard I'm used to with Radisson. The rooms are large and comfortable, but the level of finish, maintenance, and therefore cleanliness leaves much to be desired. The breakfast is average, and the service at reception is rather disorganized. I won't be returning.

I would have gladly given this hotel a positive review if I hadn't received a cancellation notification two days before a reservation made several months prior through Booking.com. The reason given was a spurious electrical compliance issue in one of the wings. And, as if by chance, this happened two days before an international professional conference bringing together numerous players in the aviation sector, for which the hotel was fully booked. Just a simple email sent two days before a long-planned business trip, vague apologies for the inconvenience, and two email addresses to contact to find a last-minute alternative. No response to the urgent SOS emails and follow-up requests sent, and when we desperately called the receptionist to find a solution, she hung up on us after asking us to come back that same evening, around 9:00 PM, for a Plan B, after an 11-hour flight from France! It is absolutely unacceptable for a 4-star hotel to leave customers suffering in total indifference and without any managerial response or appropriate commercial compensation.

It's a renovated hotel, and while there's still room for improvement in the rooms, it's quite welcoming. The restaurant and service are very good; we have no complaints. It's a peaceful and quiet place away from the hustle and bustle of the city. If you'd like to do some activities, you can walk, run, etc., along the Amador Causeway. If you're looking for tranquility and a spectacular view, this is the place for you.

It's a cozy place, though the rooms need a bit of maintenance as it's an older hotel. But the service is very, very good and the breakfast is delicious.

Everything was excellent, I loved it

I am going to this Radisson lication now for over 3 years regularly. Fantastic Service by the Staff and a good atmosphere. These times are over, the Hotel has a new management and the whole place changed. The room we received was pretty dated and the bathroom dirty. The Staff told me that there is a new owner and a lot of things have changed. Sadly to the bad side. The Radisson had Cab drivers on the property, 3 or 4 guys. Great source of information and entertainment. They were also very helpful finding certain specific stores and Businesses. Besides all that we had a really hard time to receive the "Pensionado discount " It was only given after we reminded the guy at the reception that it is the Law in Panama and it carries hefty fines if refused. The last beef I have with them is that I forgot my Laptop cable and a USB Charging block with 2 cables ( yes, my fault) and I have not received a phone call or Email. Last year I forgot something else and I promptly received a notification. We won't be going back there.

May 2026 Conclusion: The hotel's location and view are attractive, and our first stay was pleasant. However, during our second stay, we were unfortunately very disappointed by the lack of cleanliness, technical problems, and multiple room changes. We expected significantly more from a hotel of this category. In our opinion, this hotel's best days are long gone – numerous defects, visible damage, and rust both inside and out give a neglected impression. The entrance area somewhat masks the true condition, as it still looks the best. We stayed at this hotel twice in total. Immediately after our arrival in Panama City, we spent one night here. Our room faced the parking lot. The room was clean, spacious, and the bed was very comfortable; we had a restful night. Before our return flight, we therefore chose this hotel again, this time for three nights. We arrived at around 10:00 PM. Before we finally got a reasonably acceptable room, we had to change rooms a total of four times and couldn't go to sleep until around 12:30 a.m. * Room 1: Extremely noisy. The neighbors were partying at 10:30 p.m., and it felt like we were right there in the room. * Room 2: Not clean. There were still hotel cards lying around from the previous guests, the hand soap in the shower was already open, and the floor was dirty. * Room 3: Bloodstains on the bedsheet under the pillow. The bed also looked very worn – a new mattress and some maintenance were desperately needed. * Room 4: At least it was clean, and the bed was acceptable. However, when we lay down, everything felt unpleasantly humid. Since it was already 12:30 a.m. and we were exhausted after the long drive, we stayed there for the night. * Room 4: At least it was clean, and the bed was acceptable. Conclusion of this night: The bed was far too hard, and a constant, rather loud noise was audible all night (it wasn't the air conditioner or the refrigerator). In addition, the refrigerator leaked water, leaving a puddle on the floor in the morning. Since the air conditioner apparently wasn't dehumidifying, our suitcases, clothes, and practically all our personal belongings were damp in the morning. We were then given a fifth room – significantly larger and with a beautiful view of the sea and the entrance to the Panama Canal. The night was better overall, but the loud, constant noise was still present. Furthermore, water again collected on the floor in front of the refrigerator. After breakfast, the elevator wasn't working either. We finally learned from a departing guest that the power was shut off between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM due to renovations to the security system. We hadn't received any such information from the hotel. The pool area also made a poor impression: access to the main pool and the whirlpool was blocked off with barrier tape. No one could tell us why.
