The Wallflower Collective

The Wallflower Collective is an independent cocktail bar and events space at 71 South Union Street, a short walk from Church Street Marketplace. It has become the closest thing Burlington has to a queer home base: the bar hosts Dyke Night, the city's recurring pop-up mixer for queer women and nonbinary folks, and lends its room to a rotating calendar of community fundraisers, readings and DJ nights. Expect a small, warmly lit space, a thoughtful cocktail and low/no-alcohol list, and a crowd that skews local and LGBTQ+-friendly rather than a traditional gay-bar party scene. Burlington has had no dedicated gay bar since 135 Pearl closed in 2006, so welcoming, event-driven venues like Wallflower are where the community actually gathers.
