Hotel Renovo Des Moines Urbandale Tapestry by Hilton

The rooms are fine but I certainly wouldn’t consider them four star accommodations. The pool is kept at a comfortable temperature and the hot tub is very spacious. However, there is no enforcement of the posted rules, which was aggravating because there was an excessive amount of screaming from kids and several very young children SWIMMING in the hot tub and others playing catch and using squirt guns. There were no parents watching them, let alone in the hot tub with them. I realize that the hotel isn’t paying for a lifeguard to be on duty during hours when the pool is open but when staff members come into the pool area and see all of the rules that are being broken and don’t do anything, that’s frustrating.

I’m a semi-regular guest. I have been for several years. Have stayed at the Revel several times but left because the service at Revel deteriorated in the last couple of years. Now I stayed and learned that the GM of Revel Hotel is now overseeing both properties. They got rid of the wrong guy. I come for business, and I come for pleasure with the Tin Dusters for the car show. I asked for the old GM because I knew him from time here in my hometown. They said he wasn’t there anymore. I asked for the new manager and they said they would take my number and he could call me back. Three days later, nothing. So we will be taking our group elsewhere. Apparently the sales person who helped us before is gone too. Not a good dog. It’s sad when someone who cares is replaced with someone who doesn’t. It’s a beautiful place but we can pay less to get the same new level of diminished service elsewhere. Too bad. We loved the breakfast, we love front desk staff and the bar staff (Josh is memorable, but I understand he is gone too). Sad story for a nice property.

There was a woman at the front desk working while covered in puke. Whoever made her work in those conditions needs to be FIRED. Absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. I will not be returning here. I will not be supporting a company that forces their employees to work in such awful conditions.

Very nice, unique, indoor pool, small bar with limited food options.

I've stayed many times, and I think it's my favorite Hilton in the city. I keep coming back for the full breakfast, the quiet atmosphere, and the comfy rooms. I also appreciate the staff (Kristin is great).
