Omni Amelia Island Resort & Spa

The attitude here makes all the difference. Compared to the pretentiousness you’re going to get at the Ritz down the street (with a price tag to match) , here you will be met with a genuine smile, staff that care, and the same beautiful beach. We have stayed at both properties multiple times for work and for vacation. We prefer the Omni hands-down. How someone responds when things go wrong is very telling, and we had a small hiccup with our reservation likely the fault of Omni corporate. (website allowed us to book a guaranteed high floor of a suite, but there are limited of this room type). Jamie and Annastazia were genuinely both understanding and proactive in addressing the issue. Service recovery was reasonable without asking. We have been coming here for meetings now for almost two decades, and there is a reason we prefer this property to the Ritz down the street. Professional staff and prompt communication.

This is a must stay when visiting Amelia Island! I had no idea how enormous this place was. The walking grounds are gorgeous! Canopy trees everywhere provided much needed shade when walking the bridges and walking paths. We loved being directly on the beach and with access to a huge variety of restaurants, all in walking distance. The pools were large and very clean with leveled seating with soft artificial grass at the lounge chairs. The room was very quiet with a beautiful balcony overlooking the ocean . My only dislike was the ice cream shop. By the time you make it and wait in line to weigh and pay, the ice cream melted to liquid. There should be a separate checkout for ice cream service than the pizza restaurant. Mini Golf was so much fun and loved that it was also right on the property. We will be back!

First class service. We stayed four nights and had a wonderful time. Every employee at the Omni Hotel was extremely polite, professional, and would do just about anything you asked of them.

Not much to say. They are renovating. Look forward to seeing everything when renovations are completed.

We stayed at Captain’s Court, which is the first villa property south of the hotel. We had a great experience, it was our first time back since COVID. Visiting in late July, it was less crowded than previous times. While staying on property always provides an excellent experience, we had a couple issues with our room. Please note- when you book through the Omni (or at least this has been our experience twice) you pick the “amenities” not the specific villas. For example, we picked an ocean view villa. While yes, it was oceanfront (which was amazing!) the room appeared to have been vacant for a prolonged period of time. We found lots of dust, there is no housekeeping service (6 night stay), and weirdly enough no nightstands/tables in the bedrooms. Lastly, Captain’s Court is not mobility friendly, which they did not check with us before our stay. Our unit has several in-unit flights of stairs, and there are lots of external stairs that you must use to get up to the units. There are no elevators. This was challenging for us due to the size of our luggage. The Omni property offers many options for food, beach rentals, activities, etc. We love staying here, it holds a lot of nostalgia from when we were younger, and we will always love vacationing here. But it does seem to be a little bit more commoditized (we were asked to tip when we went to rent a golf cart?) and I could do without that. Thank you Omni!

Wouldn’t even consider staying here again. Old, musty, rundown, roaches. Two and a half hours past check in time and still not in our rooms. Charged my card twice and a week later still no refund. Never!

Waited 15 minutes for a drink at the bar just for someone to walk up and immediately get served. Spend your money elsewhere.

1st visit for us (family of 3). The only complaint: the patio door in our room requires all your muscle to open & close! Everything else? Perfect! The employees, guests, food and drinks were great! Omni Resort is great for families and singles who want to relax and unwind. 2nd week in July and it wasn't crowded. No lines for anything, no waiting for lounge chairs or towels. I will be back, with or without the family!

This our second time at this resort. The first time was fine except we had to change rooms because our first room was 80+ degrees. With this stay, I feel like I’ve given enough time to write a review considering not much has gone right. At 2pm on day 1, we called the resort when we were on our way to see if we could get early check-in, there was a fee. $100 or $150 can’t remember. We politely declined. That will come in to play next. We booked an ocean+pool view room and we were told at check-in time (4pm) that only a 1st floor room was available. We checked it out and there most definitely no ocean view. We queried for a partial refund but they declined. We waited 40 mins for another room. Remember the room we booked was not available until 40 mins AFTER check-in time. That’s after we arrived at 2pm and waited for our first room. So now you have to ask yourself, what would $150 have given us? Did they give our room to someone else willing to pay it? If so, that is completely unacceptable. Day 1, it took 3 calls to have housekeeping show up and they didn’t even clean the room. They just replaced the towels. The 3rd call was at 9pm after being gone the whole day. We went down to the lobby bar while they “cleaned.” We also tried calling guest services 5 times with a 0% success rate. We finally got through late in the evening to get more pillows. The AC is the room is very underwhelming. It cannot hold a temperature under 70. We had it set to 60 and fan on high and we were sweating in our sleep the first night. We did request fans last night, which has helped but the AC cannot keep up. The food was pretty good and overall the service was been good by the pool and restaurants, but that’s about it as far as positives.
