Kennebec Valley Queer Coalition

Kennebec Valley Queer Coalition is a grassroots LGBTQ+ support and community organization serving the Kennebec Valley region of central Maine, including Gardiner, Hallowell, Augusta and the surrounding towns. It provides peer support, social gatherings and advocacy for queer and trans people across an area that has few dedicated venues of its own, acting as the connective tissue for a dispersed rural community. For Gardiner residents and visitors, the coalition is the most direct local point of contact for LGBTQ+ community life; the nearest large-scale celebrations and nightlife remain in Augusta (Augusta Pride) and Portland to the south.
