Update: After multiple rounds of messages and emails, the restaurant reached out and offered us a table of 5 later that same day. We accepted and are glad we can still take our friends there. However, I wish the process had been smoother so we didn't have to go through so much trouble initially. I really hope they improve their reservation system in the future. This company should change their customer service and reservation team. They made it so difficult to do a reservation for party over 4 people?! They are not capable to make any accommodation on customer needs. I know it is a popular restaurant, but a restaurant can not handle customers’ needs can only go so far. We’ve been to Vida so many times and really like there. We have friends out of state come in town, so we want to take them there. We were trying to reserve table for 5 , online they have table for 4 and table for 1 at the same time. But it would not allow us to book a table for 5 without calling. We called, we were told we can do table for 4 and table for 1 but they are not guaranteed to sit next to each other. And told us it would not be fun even the table is right next to each other. The reservation time is a month away. The person in the call was not helpful at all, all she told us is she can’t, she can’t guarantee it. I don’t understand how come such a nice restaurant would not able to accommodate this especially they have place for totally 5 people and the time is one month away. I know they would not care, but they will eventually losing loyal customers like us.
Dinner at Vida surpassed all expectations. The prix-fixe menu was delicious and the sommelier pairing was such a fun way to elevate the experience. The staff were all superb went above and beyond to make the experience enjoyable
God is dead and he came back as a restaurant in Indiana. Vida was divine the food was fantastic every course was jaw dropping the wine was delicious and the mocktails were amazing. As someone who doesn’t drink having an actual hand made cocktail that doesn’t just taste like fruit juice was such a treat. The valet was handsome and the waitstaff were so professional and helpful, even gave some recommendations of other places to go since we were out of town. If you’re planning a trip to Indiana and don’t go here you are a fool. I cannot recommend enough
I am very disappointed at Vida’s handling of a severe episode of food poisoning. I scheduled a reservation for my mom’s birthday for my parents. They both partook in the same tasting menu, which they enjoyed. Unfortunately a few hours after dinner my dad started to experience a stomachache/GI upset. My mom on the other hand started to experience nausea/vomiting and GI upset early the next morning. She was so dehydrated from vomiting and having loose stools that she could barely stand up. She ended up being dismissed from work to recover at home. Luckily both my parents made a recovery but I was really upset given that this was my treat for my mom’s birthday. I reached out to Vida immediately via email and the general manager informed me that they had notified corporate office and that they would be in touch. When I still had not heard back a week later, I emailed again to inquire if there was a direct way to contact corporate but never received a response. I am very disappointed. The way Vida handled this situation shows how little this restaurant cares about a public health concern that could’ve affected other patrons that night. I do not recommend this establishment.
A sublime experience, and some of the best food we've had in any restaurant. Every dish was exceptionally prepared, with the distinct flavor combinations and layering you'd expect from an establishment like Vida. The Hokkaido scallop was the standout, it exceeded every expectation, and the layering of flavors genuinely blew me away. A close second was the buttermilk fried chicken thigh, where the collard greens, honey, and crisp chicken came together beautifully. The smoked pork belly was good, though I'm not sure it belongs in the same conversation as those two. I closed my four-course menu with the Maple Leaf Farms duck breast: well executed, but without the depth I'd expect at this level. My wife finished with the prime Black Angus ribeye, and it stole the show for both of us — without a doubt the best ribeye we've ever had. Cooked flawlessly, seasoned to perfection, and beautifully presented. The accompanying potatoes left something to be desired, but that may simply be personal taste. We ended with the ricotta doughnuts and the chocolate passionfruit; the latter is the only way to close a meal here. Overall, Vida is close to star status, and most of the food was exceptional. Compliments to the chef and kitchen staff for a wonderful evening. If there's one area with room to grow, it's service. Our server was good, but attention to detail matters at this tier — silverware placement and drink pouring both need refinement. Clearer guidance on parking and which entrance offers valet would also set the tone before guests ever sit down. I hope the recognition comes soon, and in the meantime, keep perfecting both the cuisine and the service. If I were planning the perfect night here, it would be the Hokkaido scallop, the buttermilk fried chicken thigh, the prime Black Angus ribeye, and the chocolate passionfruit.
Big Shoutout to Tim for his excellent service, in addition to the remainder of the staff. He managed to get me a signed menu (which I collect) but I regretfully left at my seat when departing, but I was able to snag a copy from the front desk before leaving. I really think is probably the only one Michelin star equivalent available in Indy at the moment, as Indy does not currently give out Michelin stars. Food and service are quite frankly exceptional. I opted for the 7 course menu and water and it was $150 before tip. They do have selective 4 course menus, as well as an a la carte if that's your style. I think it's priced well at a Michelin equivalent of this caliber. My only complaint of the entire night is that had I not had breakfast, I likely would have been hungry by the end of the meal, but with a request for a bread basket refresh midway through I was good to go. The staff are extremely charismatic, thoughtful and friendly, the place is extremely professional without being stuffy. Water was filled and table service was executed flawlessly for a party of 1, which is much appareciated. The dining room is a beautiful modern look with glassed in fireplaces and nice warm colors. In terms of disbes, the 2nd Fish dish and the pasta course were easy standouts. I really appreciated the ciabatta and zucchini bread served with the pasta course as it helped pad out the meal and was just plain delicious. I enjoyed the tres leches peach cake dessert, but felt as if it was a bit dry. It still was a solid dessert. I hope to be back in, next time I'll remember to actually grab my signed menu before leaving.
