Hyatt Place Iowa City Downtown

This hotel for the price isn't worth it. I expect better from Hyatt. The rugs in the hallway were dingy. Self serve breakfast? Cmon!!!! The decor is 1960's or 70s. The exterior is beautiful, modern, but inside makes one wonder if they're staying at the Hyatt or a Motel 6 off the highway. Housekeeping did not stop by my room once Next time I'm in town, im certainly checking in somewhere else

Great stay at Hyatt Place Iowa City Downtown! Clean, modern rooms, friendly staff, and an easy check-in process. The location is excellent, close to shops and dining. Comfortable stay with good amenities and a pleasant overall experience.

I would highly recommend this place. Heated garage, pool for the kids, spacious clean rooms with the most comfortable beds we've had in various hotels. And the BEST breakfast from anywhere. Lots of options, stocked and well made.

5 Stars for the Hyatt. 5 Stars for Miss... Rachel? I wanna say Rachel, and her professionalism as she navigated technical difficulties while working to check us in. Indoor Heated/Cooled Parking? Do it. Just hand the nice people the extra 15 bucks and do it. There is literally no downside. After a long winter full of school activities and on the road every weekend living, my wife and I were ready for a weekend away, just the two of us. The standard King Room was amazing. An open and inviting space, with lots of natural light, thanks to a large floor to ceiling window, with a great view of the downtown area. The room was beyond clean. The bathroom was stylish and functional with a walk in shower. The seating area with couch just inside the door was even better because you didn't have to lay in bed, fully dressed and ready for supper, while watching John Wick waiting for your wife to finish getting ready. Oddly specific I know, but having nowhere comfortable to sit in a hotel room other than the bed, drives me nuts. The next time we come to Iowa City for a weekend of shopping, dinner, and dancing this will be where we'll stay.

The room was a disappointment. The tub/shower drain was blocked, cracked tile on the shower wall, the sink drain was also slow to drain. The oversized bathroom vanity was inches from the toilet. No coffee at the breakfast buffet. The girl at the front desk offered to sell me espresso or go to a nearby coffee shop.

Customer Service is not helping at all

Fabtastic staff. Love the location, parking is good. Really comfortable with great views of Iowa City...
