Sobre este lugar Pulse Memorial

On June 12, 2016, 49 people were killed and 53 wounded at Pulse, a gay nightclub on South Orange Avenue, during its Latin Night. Most of the victims were LGBTQ and Latino. It was the deadliest attack on LGBTQ people in American history. In the years since, the site has been a place of pilgrimage. An interim memorial — a fence ringed with tribute art, photographs and flowers — surrounded the club for nearly a decade while plans for a permanent memorial struggled forward. The original onePULSE Foundation dissolved in late 2023 without building it; the City of Orlando then purchased the property and took responsibility for the project, guided by victims' families and survivors. The club building was taken down in March 2026, and construction of the permanent memorial begins in September 2026, with opening targeted for late 2027. The design centers the people rather than the event: 49 columns, each bearing a victim's name and the flag of their homeland; a reflection pool tracing the former dance floor; a water wall inscribed, in English and Spanish, "For all those who just wanted to dance"; the survivor's tree; and a visitors' pavilion that will hold the preserved Pulse sign, front door and disco ball. Visiting now: during construction the site can be viewed only from outside the perimeter. Come to pay respects — quietly. Check the City of Orlando's Pulse Memorial pages for construction status and any anniversary observances before visiting.

I think love, peace, and acceptance of people regardless of sexual orientation are stronger than hate, violence and discrimination.

Why does a museum and gift shop need to be built all because 49 innocent people lost lives along with the countless injured survivors?? I don’t understand why the OnePulse Foundation isn’t to help the survivors and families of the lost lives. The ones who survived, survived….but they will forever be physically, emotionally, and mentally damaged. All of the assistance offered to the survivors and families are no longer in place and the funds have ran out, yet One Pulse Foundation is not offering one single cent to help the survivors or the families. Instead a museum is going to be built with a gift shop…… How about help the survivors who are still struggling in every way!!!!!! If they weren’t helped and protected on June 12, 2016, how about help and protect them now!!!! THEY SHOULD MATTER!!!! Then, Now, and for the rest of their lives…… PTSD, Survivors Quilt, Physical Disabilities NEVER GO AWAY!!!! Let that sink in to everyone over One Pulse Foundation and to everyone who supports it!!!!!!

I know a lot of people that are owner, CEO, and others. They are all very amazing men and women. Each and everyone has put their personal touch thoughts, hands, time, money and more toward the Pulse Foundation and all the other great things to come. I raise my hand to them all of them. They are and will be doing amazing things for lost loved ones and for the future. Thank you too all of you amazing gold hearted people.
