Email sent to manager of ICandy: I attended Diva Royale Drag Show this past Saturday night for a friends bachelorette party with a group of 20 people. We all purchased the general admission with the prepaid 3 course dinner ticket in advance. Within our group 5 of us ordered the eggplant parmesian. Everyone at our tables received their meals and ours were never brought out. When our server came to check to see if we wanted anything else, we let him know that 5 of us never received our food. He went to check in the kitchen and came back and said they ran out but were getting more. At this point the show upstairs was about to begin. I went to speak to the manager, who basically would not accept any responsibility for the error. They then stated that they would set a table up for us upstairs and would then bring up our food. That was unacceptable because none of us wanted to be sitting down eating dinner during the show. We wanted and should have gotten our dinners at the same time as the rest of our party. There were so many fails in this situation: Our servers not even being aware that 5 people never even got their meals. The kitchen being so unprepared and running out of one the four items on the menu. Your club was not packed and we all pre-purchased our tickets well in advance. Your management (both restaurant and Diva Royale) all refusing to accept any and all responsibility for this mishap. We should have been reimbursed right then and there the cost of the dinner. Our dinners were finally brought up and plopped on the bar. That is not what we paid for. My goal that night was to make sure my friend had an awesome time and she did. I was not going to make a big deal about the major fail on your part. The five of us were comped two drinks apiece, which certainly does not make up for not having any food in our stomachs and what we paid for our tickets. I spent $62.00 for dinner and show and only received the show. I, along with the other four of my party who were shorted, should all be reimbursed for your failures. You did not deliver what was promised and what was paid for. I expect a response from you. Manager emailed me back on June 5th to say he would investigate further and would get back to me. I am still waiting. I have emailed and called repeatedly to no avail. Not worth the money at all. Those who ate said the food was mediocre, drag show only had one queen worth seeing and obviously management is horrendous. Go somewhere else.

Went there Saturday June 2nd for dinner and a show. There were 20 of us. We had a select menu which consisted of four entrées. Five of us ordered the egg plant Parmesan. Everyone’s dinners came out and they started eating them and just as they were halfway through eating we asked where our dinners where and the waiter didn’t seem to know what was even going on and said that they were out of egg plant. Mind you, aside from us 20 in the restaurant, there were probably only a half a dozen of other people. He then told us we would have to pick something else from the menu, which we did. They brought our dinner out just as they came out to tell us that we had to go upstairs for the show. They said we could eat our dinner upstairs at the show. We went up there and there were no tables and chairs up there but they brought the tray up with five dinners, no silverware and nowhere for us to sit to eat them. We complained and no one wanted to take responsibility, they just kept saying they were sorry. Not as sorry as we were. We were looking forward to DINNER and a show. We certainly gave them a lot of business. Never again. We are all requesting refunds for our dinner portion of the bill. If we get that I will write another review stating that they made it right. If not, I will write about that.

Great place, good food, good music. But you should stop lighting candles on the deck on the third floor. A girl's hair caught on fire tonight. Still 4 stars though.

ive never been more ashamed of the queer community. This space only marginalizes the community even more. If you aren't a white man you aren't welcome, unless you're a drag queen that doesn't care about the legacy of where drag has come from. Or care about how race issue continue to effect the LGBT+ community

Still a hub for all the white gay men that like to say " white men only, just a preference" But queens still perform there. Money over morals

Great place for the 2018 Gentlemen...... go if you dare to be different

First time here., 7:30pm on a Thursday, not crowded at all, but bartender dismissive. I asked for a food menu ... he never bothered to bring it, and I didn't feel like a meal in the place after the negative intro. Seems like a mainly gay white crowd of locals in the middle-age range. While there, I looked up reviews of the bar and saw many reviews pointing to racism and racist comments by the owner (I watched the video myself). I just didn't feel welcome. I had such a great time at Toasted Walnut bar, but this place put a damper on the enthusiasm for the Philly gay scene, especially if you're a person of color. I would skip this bar.
