Great location but terrible housekeeping service. We have been here four days and they never service our room unless we call multiple times. It is crazy how incompetent the housekeeping department is in this hotel and clearly management does not care because we complained several times and it keeps happening. It’s not that the front desk doesn’t care, they are great. It’s just that however is managing the housekeeping department during the day is not doing their job.

Great location and they were so sweet to our dog. Highly recommend!

Definitely not a five star hotel would not recommend look elsewhere this is comparable to Holiday Inn and Bestwestern hotel hotel needs major updating

Very comfortable place to stay with great service through and through, that just happens to be pretty luxurious too. Room: I did get an upgrade from the basic room to a suite, so I'm not sure how the basic rooms are but I'm sure these things are the same. Free bottles (2!) of water, a functioning Nespresso machine, very effective temperature controls that you can barely hear working, lots of outlets at the desk and nightstand, and a Samsung TV that does allow HDMI input or BT connection for audio. Basic things that a shocking amount of "luxury" hotels get wrong. Really the only thing I'd ding here is that there's no master light switch to turn on/off all the lights in the room, but that's minor. Bathroom: Great water pressure, strong flush in the toilet, mouthwash provided, and lots and lots and lots of towels. Dings here would be that the hot water doesn't get *quite* hot enough for me but that's a personal thing. A really nice thing to see is that they don't lock up the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Appreciate the show of trust, and honestly who is out there stealing this stuff anyhow? Dining: I had dinner at Urban Farmer, and then got breakfast delivered to the room. Dinner was very good, but the cocktail menu stood out. My bartender/server was outstandingly helpful with suggestions on my drink and dinner. One suggestion would be to trim the vegetation/greenery around the two-tops by the bar. Breakfast delivered on-time, but my Acai Bowl came with the acai still frozen in bar form. They promptly comp'd that from my bill, but the rest of the breakfast was great. I'm an opportunistic stayer when I travel, so I typically look for the place that offers the best deal or is part of whatever loyalty program I'm using, and rarely stay at the same hotel more than once. I'd absolutely stay at The Nines again with or without a deal.

It feels like a high-class, elegant hotel. The staff are multinational and seem to be able to speak various languages. There was a slight mistake with the room assignment at first, but a female supervisor-like person kindly guided me to my room. The room was clean and the amenities and facilities were sufficient. Above all, the view was great. If I had to nitpick, closing the curtains was a bit difficult... (laughs) Breakfast is a bit pricey, and you might not have enough credit. There's a Muji in the building next door, and it's close to a park and shopping area, so the location is excellent.

What a fantastic hotel. Loved every interaction with the staff from the front desk, security, client services, restaurants and event support. Everyone was so lovely and appeared to enjoy their jobs. The hotel itself feels unique in its own mini eco-system mixed with design, art and thoughtful touches. I appreciated every detail. I felt safe, supported and proud to sponsor an event at the hotel. The room was lovely, clean and quiet.

Right in the heart of Portland, with PacNW steakhouse Urban Farmer and fusion-Japanese lounge Departures in house, this would already be an appetizing hotel even without its superb guest rooms. Immaculately appointed, with decor that's just the right amount of arty, this will be a stay you won't soon forget.

The biggest issue was a complete disregard for rest. I requested a comb through room service at 9 pm. It was delivered shortly after midnight by a staff member who ignored the "Do Not Disturb" sign and knocked loudly enough to wake me. As a result, I was up at 3 am writing this review with a ruined night of sleep. The hotel is also very noisy on weekends. The hotel picks up significant sound from Pioneer Courthouse Square when events are happening. While things quiet down after 10 pm, you’re an involuntary participant in the noise until then. The atrium area is similarly loud — check-in was difficult due to another loud event happening right next to the front desk. Also, the rooms have no option to open windows for a fresh air intake, and the ACs do not work as air exchangers. The Urban Farmer bar/restaurant in the atrium is excessively dark in the evening, likely because many interior rooms face inward, also expensive (expect ~$70 per person), and a la carte only for breakfast (no buffet option). The hotel is generally well-maintained, but I noticed mold growing in the tile joints in the bathroom. There is no self-parking at the hotel — you must use paid parking in nearby garages. The hotel has a great location, but the combination of noise, service lapses, and small maintenance issues made this feel more like a mid-tier experience than a true luxury one (just low-quality toilet paper tells a lot). And this is reflected in the room rate, which is a bit too cheap for a luxury property. I would not recommend it for weekend stays if you prioritize peace and quiet, and for a long stay.

Staff was amazing and helpful. Service was excellent, Urban Farmer was incredibly good. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Overall great experience.
