Mister A's

Mister A’s was one of the highlights of my trip to San Diego! The views are absolutely breathtaking, and the architecture and ambiance are stunning. It’s the perfect place for a special occasion—I celebrated my birthday here, and it made the evening feel even more memorable. A couple of tips: be sure to arrive a little early for your reservation, and make sure you’re dressed appropriately since they do enforce the dress code. You’ll have about two hours for your reservation, which was the perfect amount of time to enjoy the experience without feeling rushed. The food was excellent. I highly recommend the caviar tater tots—they were easily one of my favorite dishes. The Salmon Wellington was cooked well and very flavorful, although I found the sauces to be a bit on the heavier side. The coconut sorbet was absolutely delicious and was the perfect way to end the meal. The service was warm, attentive, and professional from start to finish. Between the incredible views, beautiful setting, outstanding service, and delicious food, Mister A’s is a restaurant I would absolutely recommend. I hope to return the next time I’m visiting San Diego!

Amazing restaurant. Great food and an exceptional staff. Would highly recommend as a restaurant but also as a venue. Weddings and events here are flawless. Would highly recommend!

Celebrated 4 birthdays and a 40 year anniversary among 5 of us. Great food, location and service. The views are spectacular and matched the appetizers. One of our favorite San Diego restaurants for special occasions. Started with cocktails, their old fashioned is great. The pork belly, steak tatare and tater tots were interesting and a good combination. Caesar salad was ok, but a bit flat. Lamb, lobster with truffles, halibut and pork chop all were lovely. Sommelier was very helpful in choosing French wines. They brought complementary deserts and the evening was an experience.

Great view, nice atmosphere and delicious food.

Overall a rather lackluster experience. The way the order was taken for our table of eight that we came for a birthday was like we were putting her out. Everything was spread out it took close to an hour to get a bread basket. It was very hard to hear her and she spoke in a very monotone not excited voice. It was sort of like she felt that there was already a 20% service fee so she didn't have do anything but the bare minimum because she didn't have to earn her tip. The food was just okay. It was kind of dropped on our table never asked if we need anything else. Then they refused to separate the bill. We had four couples. So we had to sit there for another 20 minutes in the dark trying to figure out who had what and what each of the couples owed. It had been 15 years since I've been there and it would be okay if it was another 30 before I found myself coming back. Definitely relying on THEIR incredible View and 60 year history to draw people in.

The best dinner experience! Make a reservation outdoors during sunset to enjoy the view of the city. We started with the Mister A’s caesar salad and caviar tater tots. For dinner we ordered the butter poached Maine lobster cacio e pepe and the 12 oz ribeye. For drinks we had a Mister A’s martini and an old fashioned and finished with carajillos-yum! Shoutout to Gabriel for all the great recommendations! Thank you to Roberto and Ian as well! Super friendly staff and delicious food. Can’t wait to return and try different items on the menu.
