Staybridge Suites Wilmington Downtown by IHG

The reason for the three stars is because there is absolutely no free parking given to guests. It was such a stressful situation for me we drove out of town to come up for the Clifford Brown jazz festival for one night once we got there we were told that we had to pay $24 for parking, typically when I stay at a IHG hotel parking is giving for free I don't have to pay so I didn't even look at the information on the page which after constant complaining I did look and sure enough it says that but the difference is this parking lot was a half a block up and not affiliated with the hotel. The original owners of this beautiful hotel should be ashamed of them selves for allowing the fabulous staff to take all of the complaints from guest about the horrible parking, my husband walked back upto the parking lot to scan the QR code that didn't work so the lovely Ms Thoeun at the front desk had to attach that to our bill which was $24.00, we went to the Clifford Brown jazz festival for 1 night, came back to our car and there was a ticket yes a ticket with a QR code that actually worked, and let me tell you that I was very upset. Walked back down the hill to the hotel and spoke to the very nice young man handling the night shift front desk he told us that we can speak with front desk manager who is Ms Thoeun in the morning which we did. Ms Thoeun was once again very helpful she took the ticket which was $78.00!! and told us that the GM would take care of it in the morning, yes that's right it went from $24 bucks to $78 bucks for 1 night. The partnership that is with this hotel and the IHG brand is setting their employees up for confrontation with guests upset about the HORRIBLE PARKING LOT, they don't care about the staff and the beautiful hotel. The breakfast was The best I've ever had at a IHG hotel with fresh fruits, you make your own waffles, fresh veggies, the sausage was delicious, the young man attended the breakfast bar was super pleasant and attentive. These young employees there deserve better, upper Management needs to do for their staff and work out better and non stressful parking situations for their guest, I really enjoyed my stay the suites are amazingly beautiful, the decor was very attentive, they supply you with everything you need for your stay, dishes, flatware, dish soap, pots and pans, hand and dish towels and even light beverages, all and all great place to stay, HORRIBLE PARKING, IHG BRAND MANAGEMENT THIS IS FOR YOU, TREAT THOSE WHO WORK HARD AND ARE GOOD TO THE GUESTS WHO VISITS THIS LOCATION BETTER AND FIND ACCEPTABLE FREE PARKING AND STOP BEING INSENSITIVE TO YOUR STAFF.

I stayed here two years in a row in February for a ballet competition that reccomended this hotel as the best place to stay. The first year 2025, was ok, but when I came back the next year, it was AWFUL. The breakfast food was terrible and halfway through the trip the power went out. Nothing worked, and the backup generator only powered two lights in the lobby. My phone was dead and I couldn't call my mom, cook food or even see- since I got home in the middle of the night. Me and my friend had to walk all the way across town to our other friends cheaper hotel, just to take a shower since we were so sweaty from ballet. Mind you, we are 16 year old girls and Wilmington is scary at night. I thought we would get shot. The only thing that was ok was that the staff was nice, and I felt bad that so many guests were being rude, also the rooms were clean and well kept. It just didn't seem like they had the best precautions in place for emergency situations like power outages, and may need to get a new electric company to manage the hotel.

We do a lot of jewelry classes at Tuscarora Lapidary which is very close to here. Wonderful breakfast and staff at the hotel. They also host our jewelry conference Metal Immersion held each January. It is a wonderful time, due a lot to support from the hotel!

Great place, full kitchen, every mon-wen free amazing appetizers, free beer wine, amazing free breakfast , free laundry on 11th floor, free street parking or 23 a day in hotel parking lot, security included....

Really nice room with a big bathroom, an own kitchen including a fridge and also all amenities that you need. Stayed there for three nights and will be back if another stay in Wilmington is needed.

Great stay, comfortable room, good breakfast daily. This is a downtown location, so you will have to pay for parking and there is a little walk from the lot to the hotel, so that was my only issue with the location.
