Stayed here for Eugene marathon weekend and probably best value place I’ve ever stayed in for a marathon? Only a mile from the marathon finish. Rooms are small but really clean and owners are very responsive and nice. Bathroom and showers were shared but never ran into people. Couldn’t recommend enough!

Absolutely—here you go: The Guest House is a wonderful place to stay, offering a clean, comfortable, and welcoming atmosphere from the moment you arrive. The staff provides excellent service and genuinely goes out of their way to make guests feel taken care of. Everything was well maintained and thoughtfully prepared, which made the stay relaxing and hassle-free. The location is fantastic, right downtown and close to everything, making it easy to explore the area on foot. The building itself is a beautiful conversion of an amazing Victorian house, full of character and charm while still feeling modern and comfortable. On top of all that, the room rates were more than fair for the quality, service, and experience provided. I would gladly stay here again.

Even though we had a very small room, it was very quaint and extremely respectful. With an on-site manager ready to help with whatever your need be this hostile like habitat is great for those who don’t mind being downtown and hearing nothing but the city passing by you are close to everything. Everything is clean there and I believe I would recommend this place to the pope.

The manager or whatever you call her downstairs in the first room called me a liar when I walked by with my service animal. I got diagnosed with epilepsy in 2021 and have had several seizures from 2021 to 2025. I told her I have the paperwork, he wasn’t wearing his vest, I just took it off to wash it. Highly rude manager rolled her eyes and asked me where is a he a service animal basically calling me a liar. I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you want to be yelled and called a liar. My seizures I have are no joke they are hard on my body, they have me out of commission for serval days. I’m super upset by the actions of this person as I have never stayed here before. She said if he does anything in the room she will charge my card. He’s very well tranced manner dog, in another room I heard a dog barking but I’m the only that gets yelled at. -7/10

This hostel is what Europe does. It’s a very nice hostel. Nice big clean bathroom. There are two bathrooms across from my room. Kitchen is big on the first floor and another on the second floor and another one on the third floor. Laundry is exceptionally clean. The whole place has everything. Living rooms back patio with everything. Who ever dreamed up this place was a genius.

Check in was easy, and communication was great. Room wasn't cleaned. Manager responded quickly and provided another room. Then housekeeping loudly cleaned and vacuumed the other room at 9pm. That was wild. Hallway is very loud, squeaky floor boards, heavy footfalls. Room is on the second floor. Couldn't sleep from hearing every damned sound in the place. Especially loud is the door for the stairwell. It squeaks horribly and slams. Then the footfalls on the stairs and down the hallway are awfully loud. The hallway is like a resonator. Someone had their door open crinkling paper, and it was loud. It's ridiculous. Walls are thin, conversations are heard. Doors slamming from every part if the building are heard all night- especially the front door. Sheets and duvet are stained from oils. Both chairs in both rooms rooms were stained and dirt covered. Street noise of cars driving by at night is constant. Blinds are plastic horizontals, and the neighbor building lights are bright at night. Windows do not stay open. Bathroom seemed relatively clean. Overall, place is too loud and bright for rest, and guest experience feels minimally considered. If you have excellent earplugs, an eye mask, and need a cheap flop, it's for you.

I was afraid to go inside. Bad part of town. The place looked old and run down. Decided to go elsewhere.
