JASMYN

JASMYN — the Jacksonville Area Sexual Minority Youth Network — is the city's anchor LGBTQ+ institution and its de facto community hub. Founded to serve queer and trans young people, the organization runs a campus in the Brooklyn/Riverside area where teens and young adults can find drop-in space, counseling and mental-health support, HIV testing and medical services, housing help, and food, showers and laundry for youth experiencing homelessness through its ACCESS program.

Beyond direct services, JASMYN is a visible advocate for LGBTQ+ Jacksonville, hosting its long-running Coming Out Day Breakfast each October and partnering with River City Pride and other local groups. While its programming is youth-focused, JASMYN functions as the closest thing Jacksonville has to a general LGBTQ+ community center, and its Riverside-area location sits at the heart of the city's queer neighborhood.
