About this place JASMYN

JASMYN, the Jacksonville Area Sexual Minority Youth Network, is a nonprofit serving LGBTQ+ young people from a campus at 923 Peninsular Place, between Riverside and Brooklyn. Services include a drop-in center, counseling and mental-health support, HIV and STI testing, health services, and housing and basic-needs help for homeless youth (food, showers, laundry). Its programmes are aimed at teens and young adults, but in a city without a general LGBTQ+ community center it also serves as the main point of contact for wider community information, and it holds public events such as an annual Coming Out Day breakfast in October. Phone (904) 389-3857 before visiting, as most services run on set hours or by appointment.

Open arms, open hearts! JASMYN has continued to create a safe place for the LGBTQIA community. This organization has been changing lives for the better for over 30 years.

Very religious guy here: My school's GSA helps out JASMYN and I think the work they do for LGBT+ Youth is vital to Jacksonville and Florida as a whole. We can learn from their selflessness and inclusivity, especially in this time.

If you are homeless and under 30 and lgbt you are doing yourself a disservice by not coming here at least once.

I'm only giving 2 stars because a guy gave me some useful advice on the porch, since I wasn't allowed in, he gave me 2 referrals to other places for housing, since I'm homeless & work. They never answer their phone or respond to messages online or by phone. If you're not millennial Jasmyn doesn't care about you, plain & simple. Life for a transgender generation x is over, nobody cares anymore, every helpful organization nowadays caters to youth. Once I make millions of dollars I'll open my own LGBTQ+ 401c that helps people regardless of their age. I suppressed this all my life since I survived abortion {still pro-choice, pro-free will, pro freedom}
