Where to Stay in Alice Springs
There are no gay hotels or guesthouses in Alice Springs. The places below are mainstream, picked for location and ratings, and same-sex couples won't have any trouble checking in. Earlier versions of this page called several of them "LGBTQ+-friendly" without any basis; we've dropped those labels.
Walk to Todd Mall
Greet Hotel (the former Diplomat) on Gregory Terrace is a block from the mall, with a pool and beer garden (Google 3.6). Mantra Alice Springs faces the Todd River on Leichhardt Terrace (3.7). Mercure Alice Springs Resort is a five-minute walk over the river footbridge, with low-rise rooms around gardens (4.1). On a budget, Red Rock Hostel is right behind the mall (4.3), and Alice's Secret Travellers Inn is a small, highly rated hostel in East Side (4.7).
Barrett Drive, 2 km south
Crowne Plaza Lasseters is the casino hotel where Priscilla's finale was filmed and where fabALICE opens (3.9). The DoubleTree by Hilton next door is the main full-service option (4.1). Desert Palms has villas with kitchenettes (4.2), and Quest on South Terrace has apartments (4.2).
Out of town
G'Day Mate Tourist Park in Ross has cabins and powered sites (4.6). Vatu Sanctuary is a self-catering guesthouse in Braitling. The Squeaky Windmill, a tent B&B 12 km out in White Gums, opens only from April to October.
