Cruising in Rome (battuage in Italian) happens indoors, in a set of private cruise clubs and two men's saunas. Every one of them is a members' club, so the one thing you must bring is photo ID. We don't list parks: public sex carries heavy fines in Italy, and the central parks have a pickpocket problem after dark.
The card
Italian cruise clubs and saunas are legally private clubs, so you join rather than buy a ticket. In Rome most venues ask for the ARCO card: K Men, Skyline, Company, Gender Klub and L'Alibi are in its network. Adam Sauna issues its own Entes card for €10 a year. The card is issued at the door with photo ID (a passport if you're from outside the EU).
Cruise clubs
K Men Club · Via Amato Amati 6/8, Torpignattara
Leather and cruise club since 1997, with a maze, darkrooms, cabins, a sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Open from 22:30, closed Mondays (listings disagree on Tuesdays). ARCO card. It's out east, so take a taxi.
Censured · Via dei Quattro Cantoni 5, near Termini
The most central: a bar and lounge upstairs, a play room and darkroom below. Open nightly from 22:00; Wednesday's Naked Night is the best-known regular night. Listings put entry at about €20 including the card and a drink.
Skyline Club · Via Pontremoli 36, San Giovanni
Called Black Hole for a while and listed as Skyline again in 2026. Labyrinth, darkrooms and cabins, with themed nights (naked, hairy, glow) on its own calendar. From 22:30, closed Tuesdays. A few doors from Adam Sauna.
X Club (Il Diavolo Dentro) · Via degli Ernici 5, San Lorenzo
A fetish cruising club that moved here from Largo Itri and now trades as X Club; misterb&b lists it as men-only. Older maps still show the old address.
Gender Klub · Via Faleria 9
Not a gay club as such: ARCO calls it the capital's only transgender club, and the crowd is mixed. Thursday to Saturday from 23:00, ARCO card.
Company Roma, the bear bar near Termini, also has a play room.
Saunas
Apollion (Via Mecenate 59/A, daily 14:00–23:00) and Adam Sauna (Via Pontremoli 28, late at weekends) both have darkrooms and cruising areas. Details are on our Rome saunas page.
Capocotta beach
In summer the gay stretch of the naturist beach at Capocotta, known as il Buco, is busy at weekends. Nudity there is legal; sex is not.
The law, and why we don't list parks
Since 2016, sex in a public place has been an administrative offence in Italy with fines of €5,000 to €30,000 (Article 527 of the Penal Code), and a criminal offence near places used by children. Villa Borghese and Colle Oppio still turn up in older guides; we don't send readers there. The clubs and saunas above are legal, licensed and a lot safer.

Frequently asked questions
Is cruising legal in Rome?
Being gay is legal and the clubs and saunas operate openly as private members' clubs. Sex in public is not: Article 527 of the Penal Code carries fines of €5,000 to €30,000.
Do I need a membership card?
Yes, at almost every club and sauna. Most use the ARCO card; Adam Sauna uses its own Entes card. Both are issued at the door with photo ID.
Which club is most central?
Censured, a few minutes' walk from Termini station. Skyline and Adam Sauna are close together on Via Pontremoli in San Giovanni.
