Curaçao Pride
About This Event
Curaçao Pride is a week of events in Willemstad run by the Curaçao Pride Foundation. Its center is an evening Pride Walk that starts at Rif Fort in Otrobanda, crosses the Queen Emma pontoon bridge, goes down Breedestraat and ends at Wilhelminaplein in Punda. That square then becomes Rainbow Park, with DJs, drag and a live band. The rest of the week has brunches, an art opening, mixers and parties in bars around Pietermaai. In 2019 organizers said the walk had started seven years earlier with a handful of people in a parking lot outside Willemstad. That year it drew more than 1,000 people, a record at the time. In July 2024 the Dutch Supreme Court ruled that Curaçao must allow same-sex marriage.
It usually falls in late September or early October. The 13th Pride Walk was on 2 October 2025 under the theme 'Find Your Spark', and the artist Bagira unveiled a permanent Pride mural in Punda.
The 2026 Pride Week, themed 'Make Waves', ran from 27 September to 3 October 2026, with the parade and Rainbow Park on 1 October. The 2027 dates hadn't been announced when we checked.
