Orgullo LGTBI+ Honduras

Honduras has no organised Pride festival. What it has is a Pride march in Tegucigalpa, and a separate one in San Pedro Sula, and both are protests more than parties. Being openly LGBTQ in Honduras is dangerous. Rights groups have counted more than 540 LGBTQ people killed since 2009. The observatory KAI+ recorded 20 hate crimes in the first five months of 2026. In 2021 Congress changed the constitution to make the ban on same-sex marriage almost impossible to reverse. There is still no gender identity law, even though the Inter-American Court ruled against the state in 2021 over the 2009 killing of Vicky Hernández, a trans woman.

The most recent Tegucigalpa march we could confirm was on 12 July 2025, along Bulevar Suyapa. Marchers called for a gender identity law and an end to hate crimes. Groups such as the Asociación Arcoíris and the Comité de la Diversidad Sexual de Honduras lead most of the activism. In May 2026 they marched from Parque Central to Congress to protest that year's killings.

We couldn't confirm whether a 2026 Pride march took place, and no 2027 date has been announced. If you want to join, go with local organisers and stay with the group. Don't wear Pride gear while travelling to or from the march, and use registered taxis.
