Samis Bar

I actually like the bar as no one has attitude there. I found it unassuming , trashy in a good way like kitsch , It’s a simple bar like being in a gay bar in London in the 80s , or France in the 90s or Spain in 00s . But I hated that as a gay bar they played terrible mixes of classic pop songs instead of the actual songs and even though I m a big spender I even found it overpriced . We asked the bartender to get the bill, he said " oh let me buy you a round", he gave us the drinks, then left , then the next guy charged us also for the "free round".

I recently visited this shop. The staff is very kind and friendly. This shop has a special style, which is missing from other shops in Athens. The prices were affordable. In this particular shop there is great tolerance and acceptance of all LGBTQI. They have the opportunity to visit LGBTQI people, who in other Mainstream LGBTQI shops in Gazi, do not have the objective passage, as well as people who want to stay away from Mainstream culture. So the fat, the elderly, the effeminate, the trans, the cross, and in general people who do not meet the aesthetic criteria required in other shops will not feel uncomfortable. Nor is there a possibility of becoming the subject of ridicule. But be careful with the various escorts that gather. They ask for a little high amounts of money for their appearance and there is always the risk of money theft.

Samis has a ton of good vibes, decent music and a great atmosphere. Mostly local Greek guys, but worth a visit. If you're staying in central Athens, I would probably recommend an Uber and travelling on foot had us passing through some sketchy neighborhoods. The area the bar is in seems safe enough though. A very friendly vibe.

We had so much fun on a Monday night. The barman was the nicest barman I've ever met. The prices were very good. The decoration and the vibe of the place was amazing. Thank you, we'll be back for sure!
