About this place Green Mountain Inn

The Green Mountain Inn is a historic inn on Main Street in the centre of Stowe village, Vermont, dating from the 1830s. It is a mainstream hotel that is gay-friendly, not a gay venue. It holds a 4.6 Google rating from more than 1,200 reviews. Shops and restaurants are on the doorstep, and Stowe Mountain Resort is about ten minutes' drive up the Mountain Road. Note that it is in Stowe, not Bolton Valley: the Bolton Valley ski area is roughly 40 minutes away by car, and Burlington about 45. Vermont has a long record on LGBTQ+ rights; it was the first US state to offer civil unions, in 2000.

I had an amazing experience at Green Mountain Inn. From the moment I arrived, the entire place had such a warm, welcoming, and comfortable atmosphere. The property itself is beautiful, peaceful, and incredibly well maintained, making it the perfect place to relax and get away from the usual routine. What really stood out to me was the hospitality. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and genuinely made me feel welcome throughout my stay. The attention to detail and the overall atmosphere made the experience feel much more personal than staying at a typical hotel. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the surroundings were absolutely beautiful. I especially loved how peaceful everything felt while still having plenty to do nearby. It’s the kind of place where you can actually slow down, enjoy your surroundings, and feel completely refreshed. Overall, I couldn’t recommend Green Mountain Inn enough. It exceeded my expectations, and I would happily stay here again. If you’re looking for somewhere beautiful, comfortable, welcoming, and relaxing, this is definitely worth checking out!

We loved this hotel right in the downtown within walking distance from restaurants and shops! The pool and hot tub was perfect and their outdoor restaurant was quaint!

The Green Mountain Inn was nestled in a central location right in the heart of Stowe. The room was very clean and the bed was really comfortable! Only real caveat was the layout of the hotel is spread over a handful of buildings which felt somewhat isolating and it felt that somethings you may expect to be complimentary (like borrowing an umbrella) instead comes with a small fee. Not a knock on the establishment or the fine service from the staff (Christian was incredibly helpful) but considering the price of rooms during peak season it felt a little surprising. Parking lot is shared with local businesses so spots are not guaranteed even if you are a guest of the hotel

Hotel is nice but could use a facelift, especially the bath/shower.
